Rex – The Quiet Little Shadow Rex is a sweet, sensitive boy with a soft heart and a shy spirit. When he first meets new people he is timid and skittish, but with patience, kindness, & a little time, his true personality starts to shine. Each day he’s growing more confident and learning that the world is a safe place. He’s currently working on socializing & building trust, and he’s making great progress with loving guidance. Rex plays great with kids and other dogs, and he seems to find comfort in calm, friendly companions. He is fully potty trained and very well behaved in the home. Rex also enjoys snuggling, though he prefers affection on his own terms. When he feels safe, he’ll happily curl up beside you and soak up the love. Rex needs a home with a fenced yard and preferably another dog or two. Approximate Birthdate: Jan 2021 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. Paddy is a fun loving 8 pound 3 year old longcoat Chihuahua looking for his forever home. He had a rough start as a stray on the streets of St. Joseph Mo before being sheltered and fostered by TARA. He joined us on St. Partick’s Day and lives with his foster mom and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi in a downtown loft. He is affectionate and will give generous snuggles but is not needy. Paddy is independent and acts like a big boy. He likes nothing more than games of chase, toy tugs, and gnawing on elk bones twice his size! The spunky guy plays and wrestles with a corgi 4 times his size! Besides being full of fun, Paddy is a city gentleman. He enjoys a sudsy bath in the kitchen sink followed by a blow out and brushing. He is potty trained. Paddy looks forward to going on walks in the neighborhood and has his favorite tree and fire hydrant. If he forgets his city manners, a “sshhhsshh” from you ,or as a last reminder, a squirt of water from a spray bottle, reminds him about barking. After a month, a loud sshhhsssh now does the trick. He has become a perfect resident in a downtown condominium building. Although he is a tough fellow, he forgets that he is 8 pounds. So, it is best for him not to live in a home with small children. Dogs and cats are playmates to him and he wants nothing more than a good romp with them. If you want a spunky, dapper, and playful buddy with the luck of the Irish Paddy is your man.
