Story
Ella Mae has arrived from Mexico! This sweet girl has had a tough life but is looking forward to a new beginning! She is so sweet & gentle natured. She's calm but loves to explore. She is looking forward to a slow retirement home filled with love! Age: 12 Breed:  Chi Mix Weight:  12 lbs Kid-friendly: Great with kiddos but she is shy so we recommend older kiddos. Dogs: She's pretty bossy so she would need a very tolerant dog. She likes to bark orders! Cats: Yes but again, bossy ;) Crate trained: Yes! Potty trained: Yes! Health concerns: She only has two teeth! Adoption fee: $175 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.      Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.  Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!  February 4, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rufus is a sweet boy hiding behind a very scared demeanor. Rufus loves other dogs and gets excited when he sees them. Rufus is VERY timid around people. He spends a majority of his day in his kennel in the living room, with the door open, watching and learning. He will tolerate being picked up. He will allow people to hold and pet him. He is now learning to leave his kennel on his own and go to the door when it's potty time. He is potty trained if kept on a schedule. He doesn't like to be alone at night and will howl so he sleeps nicely in a kennel in my room. He is quiet in his kennel when I leave the house. Rufus will need a family that is willing to be very patient with him and give him lots of time and space. He is a sweet boy but he had a very ruff start to life and never got the opportunity to learn how to be a dog.   Rufus is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tayo is slowly learning the ropes of being a dog. He’s curious about people and, with a bit of time and patience, will warm up quickly to anyone who can show him that humans are cool. Tayo comes from a semi-hoarding situation where he was one of many dogs, so he’s still figuring out the world around him, but finds comfort and companionship with  Tayo would do best with a confident dog friend to help him learn the ropes and show him how to dog properly. He’s not a huge fan of dinner time because it means being picked up, but he loves heading outside with his dog buddies to potty. His big eyes have a way of looking right into your soul, and you can tell there’s a lot going on behind them. Tayo isn’t used to walking on a leash yet, so he’d do best in a home with a secure fenced yard where he can safely explore. With a patient human and another dog to guide him, Tayo is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion. Due to his skittish nature, young high-energy children may not be a good fit for him currently. Tayo is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Nina, a gentle and affectionate 2-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix with the sweetest heart (literally—she has a heart-shaped spot on her head)! This quiet, cautious girl may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and loves to follow her foster mom around. Once she feels safe, Nina’s affectionate side shines, and she becomes a true cuddle companion. She’s wonderful with people of all ages, other dogs, and even dog-savvy cats! Nina is crate trained, mostly potty trained, and rides well in the car. Her crate is her cozy safe space, and with a little encouragement, she loves coming out for pets and snuggles. Smart and eager to please, Nina is ready to build on her basic training in a patient, loving home. If you’re looking for a gentle, intelligent companion who’ll be your loyal shadow, Nina might be the perfect fit! Nina is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MinnieMarie was found as a stray. She was spotted running across the road in front of a truck, skinny and shy. No one claimed her, but she’s been making herself right at home in her foster’s care. She’s an independent girl, but still enjoys attention. She’s not one to fuss for affection, but she’s happy to be around her people and other dogs. In fact, she follows her foster’s dogs around for guidance, especially when it comes to playtime. She’s got some quirks—she’s not a fan of collars or halters and ducks when you try to put one on, so once you get one on it is best to leave it on! MinnieMarie loves the dog park, especially in the evenings, and she’s an absolute champ at wrestling with her foster’s youngest dog. When she’s not playing, she prefers to be watched while she eats, and she’ll happily curl up under the covers for a cozy night’s sleep. MinnieMarie hasn’t been around kids much and would do best in a home without little ones. She’s a little shy at first and will bark when she hears noises outside, but she’s also sweet and playful with the right companion. She could thrive with a playful dog friend or as an only dog with someone who’s home often.   If you’re looking for a dog with a playful side and an independent streak, MinnieMarie may be the girl for you! MinnieMarie is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
