Story
Ella Mae has arrived from Mexico! This sweet girl has had a tough life but is looking forward to a new beginning! She is so sweet & gentle natured. She's calm but loves to explore. She is looking forward to a slow retirement home filled with love! Age: 12 Breed:  Chi Mix Weight:  12 lbs Kid-friendly: Great with kiddos but she is shy so we recommend older kiddos. Dogs: She's pretty bossy so she would need a very tolerant dog. She likes to bark orders! Cats: Yes but again, bossy ;) Crate trained: Yes! Potty trained: Yes! Health concerns: She only has two teeth! Adoption fee: $175 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.      Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.  Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!  February 4, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#128&#139Tayo is a gentle and shy pup with a heart full of potential. While he’s still learning to feel safe and confident in the world, he’s made great progress with his foster mom and loves seeking her out for comfort and companionship. He’s more cautious around men and needs a little more time to warm up to them—he's okay at arm’s length with his foster dad and prefers to keep a bit more distance from kids. When guests come over,&#226&#128&#139T&#226&#128&#139ayo likes to retreat to his safe spot under the bed, but with the right family, he’ll continue to blossom. This special boy will thrive in a quiet, patient home where his people understand that love and trust take time. His ideal family will be willing to give him the space he needs to grow at his own pace. In return, they’ll get the sweetest, most loyal companion. &#226&#128&#139Tayo does need to go to an adoptive home with another dog present to help show him the ropes.  If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who just needs a little extra time to shine, Tayo would love to meet you! Tayo is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **Cricket’s Bio (Written by Cricket, the Pup)** Hey there, I’m Cricket! I’m a young pup with a lot of spunk and an even bigger heart. Things are going really well here, and I’m settling in nicely. I’m starting to show more of my *real* personality—let me tell you, it’s a fun one! I sleep pretty well in my kennel (although I’ll admit, the first few nights I let out some little whines). Now, I only bark for a minute or two at bedtime before I settle down. I’m working on that! I absolutely *love* to play fetch, especially with squeaky toys. They’re my favorite! I can spend hours chasing after them, and let’s just say, I’m really good at it. If I’m not fetching, I might be chewing. I really like chewing on stuff, but don't worry—my human keeps me busy with peanut butter in a Kong and lots of chewy toys. I did get a little too excited about a chew bone once, and ate it in just a few minutes. Oops! I’m a bit shy when meeting new people or other pets, but give me some time and I warm up quickly. I *really* want to play with the cats here, but they’re not as interested in me... rude, right? But that’s okay, I’ll keep trying.  Car rides? YES, please! I love them. I either nap or watch the world go by, but I’d always rather be with my human. I follow them everywhere, especially if they're going to the kitchen! I’m right there hoping for a tasty snack. Actually, *any* food will do. I’m very skilled at giving you my best puppy eyes when you sit down to eat—sometimes I even try to get a taste from your mouth after you're done. I can be sneaky like that! Speaking of being sneaky... I once got into my human’s chapstick. Yep, I chewed the container and licked the balm (it tasted pretty good, honestly). My human was a little worried, but everything turned out fine. I’m fine, but they did get a little upset when I had an accident on the bed. I’ll try not to do that again. I’m doing better about using the potty pads, though! I don’t love the cold weather, but I’m getting used to it. I’ve got to learn to walk on a leash too—so far, not so great, but we’re working on it! I might be a little stubborn about it, but I’m a quick learner if you’re patient. One thing about me: I don’t like being left alone. I cry for a little bit when my human leaves the house, but I settle down once I realize they’re coming back. I think I’d do best in a home where someone is around a lot, maybe with older kids or adults who have a little more mobility since I’m a bit of a tripping hazard. I have so much love to give, and I’m learning more every day. With a little training and lots of patience, I’ll be the perfect companion. I need someone who can help me build my confidence, teach me proper boundaries (like not lunging at faces—oops), and guide me gently. I *really* love cuddles, and I’ll be your loyal best friend forever if you’ll let me.  I’m ready for my forever home, are you ready for me?  Love,   Cricket Cricket is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Otis, the delightful pug mix with a heart of gold! From the moment he walked into his foster home, he exuded confidence and charm, instantly making himself at home. Otis is a true lover, not a fighter; he adores people and warms up to everyone he meets. His playful spirit shines as he initiates play, steals toys from his canine friends, and zooms around the backyard with joy. Otis is gentle and affectionate, often climbing into laps for snuggles. He gets along wonderfully with other animals and showcases a playful spirit without an ounce of aggression. He is crate-trained, happily eating and sleeping in his cozy crate, and his fosters are in the process of helping him perfect his potty habits. With his retired foster parents at home all day, Otis enjoys frequent outdoor adventures, allowing him to explore and play to his heart's content. Having been picked up in the Texas Rio Grande area, Otis has quickly adjusted to his new environment and is thriving. Although he is heartworm positive and will undergo treatment, it doesn’t dampen his cheerful demeanor. He loves food, toys, and, most importantly, the company of his people. If someone is looking for a sweet and loving companion to brighten their days, Otis is ready to become a cherished member of their family! Otis is from Texas.  One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.   Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello stranger! That word makes me nervous. I'm Tango. I was lucky enough to be released by my breeder to finally start living my life. I lived in a cage in a barn, under a heat lamp with little human contact. I loooove other dogs. Humans on the other hand... I have only been here a few days, I haven't made a peep and my favorite thing to do is run away from this crazy lady. When she catches me, and forces me to cuddle, I am stiff as a board. I do enjoy having my chest scratched, eventually. The lady is persistent. I am NOT aggressive, just more on the feral side and find comfort in other dogs. I need tons of forced love and a home with another dog. I will surely come out of my shell!   Tango is from a breeder release. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Brooklyn was found running loose as a stray with a few other dogs, super skinny but otherwise okay. Now, she’s looking for her forever home where she can thrive and continue to build her confidence. Brooklyn is good with children of all ages, adults, seniors, and small dogs. While she hasn’t been tested with cats, the other dogs she was found with were good with them, so there is a possibility she maybe cat-friendly too. She can be a bit cautious at first, but she warms up with a little time and reassurance. This playful girl loves toys and has a goofy, shy side. She may not do well with bigger or very dominant dogs but plays wonderfully with dogs that match her energy. She stands up for herself and would benefit from some basic training and confidence building. Brooklyn’s sweet nature shines through, especially when she’s around small kids – she loved the young children of her finder. Brooklyn is crate trained and uses a doggy door to go potty outside. She gets crated when her foster parents leave, when she eats, and at night in the bedroom. She adapted quickly to the routine, although she did whine a bit the first couple of days. Now, she’s got it all figured out. While Brooklyn loves playing with other dogs, she would also be fine as an only dog. She enjoys the company of her humans and would thrive in a home where people are in and out throughout the day. She doesn’t like being crated all day but is perfectly content sleeping in her crate at night. Brooklyn is a sweet, loving girl who needs a patient adopter who understands her initial timidity. With a bit of training and a lot of love, she’ll make a wonderful companion for any family, especially one with kids. Brooklyn is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
