Story
Hello World! My name is Fibi Dove and look at my BEAUTIFUL hair!! I mean look at it! It is all coming in and getting longer and longer!! And I love it!! It may seem a little weird that I am so happy to have hair, but it has been a long-time coming in. Let me tell you, my story. It was a dark and stormy night in a little town in Texas.... Well, I don't really know if it was dark or stormy, but it was in Texas. Anyhow, I was picked up by the dog police in a little town and I was very naked with infected itchy skin that made me nuts. I didn't have very much hair on my body and from my looks of me, it had been that way for a long time. The rescue pulled me from the dog place, and I started on my journey to get well. They tried this med and that antibiotic and this itchy treatment and that shampoo, but nothing worked until they figured out that I am probably allergic to beef and chicken, and who knows what else. My beautiful hair started to come back in when I started eating Salmon and lentil food and getting medicine for allergies from the vet. Finally, the itches were going away!! Yay!! I also was found to have the dreaded heartworms which I have undergone the slow kill treatment for, and I am all finished with that as well. Heartworm medications will be sent with me to continue my treatment routine for a year. During my many vet visits, it was found that I have a 5/6 heart murmur that is being treated with a pet heart medicine for life. I didn't have any symptoms, but they wanted to keep my heart strong, so the medicine was ordered. Because I was on the street for who knows how long, I am a little possessive of my food bowl at feeding time. I live with 3 other chihuahuas and we all eat out of separate bowls in the same room. I will growl at the others if they finish before I do and come to look in my bowl for more. But at 7.5 pounds, I am not much of a threat to anyone, but they listen to me and back off. I also live with cats and several other non-chihuahua dogs, one is 97# and I get along with them all. Personality wise, I am very sweet to people. I love to share you bed or lap and now that my skin is healed up, it is a lot comfier for me and for you to put me there. I do know how to go in and out the doggie door and when that isn't available to me, I have been known to use the potty pads that are out for the 18-year-old chihuahua that lives here with foster mom. Because of my medical history, I will need an adopter who understands my needs and is willing to follow through with my medical routine. If you think you can put up with giving me the pills, which I love in canned cheese on top of my kibble and green beans, then please fill out an application and let's talk! I will be waiting and growing more beautiful hair! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
I have heard the sentiment, "life starts after 50..." tell me you have heard it too?? It is absolutely the truth in my life!! Technically in "dog years' I am about 56, but I think it still applies to me! Found absolute SKIN barely over bone, by a kind lady and her husband...from MINUTE ONE... MY LIFE HAD MEANING!! I mean, REAL MEANING, to EVERYONE in the rescue! I went straight to the "bosses" house where my intense started immediately! I was just so emaciated that no one thought I had a chance of survival, and they were right... except my CHANCE came and I GRABBED IT by the HORNS! So here i am about 2 months later and I am so ready for my furever and ever and ever family to adopt me and complete the circle of life. I am about 8 years old, all my teeth have rotted out, but it doesn't slow me down! I am heart worm negative and have gained so. much weight, you cannot see my bones!! I am a teeny girl with a total chi personality, I will definitely let you know who I am when we meet but when the cuddling starts...you are MINE! Adopt me soon, I am ready to live the good life with my LOVING and COMMITTED family!! Local adoption is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Meet Milton WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Milton - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here in search of a home, a family...one I can say is ALL mine!! I am so ready for Christmas, is Santa coming to grant my wish? Since you're reading this, maybe you could tell him I'd love that family to be with YOU!! I am around 8 years old and came from a hoarding situation of 96 dogs all in a small house, yes 96 dogs, where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired.! I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. I am crate trained but will need some continued work on housetraining. My chill easy going personality will make a great companion pup for your family. I'd even be great for a first time pet parent!! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a BFF to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 15lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org

I.am.LEGGO!! No, not the kind you step on in the middle of the night with many expletives!! I am the GOOD kind of Leggo :) No foot pain, all love and cuddles! I am a great boy, I came from a sad situation and I am so so glad my "mom" saved me! I was left at my foster home's gate in my crate, after her neighbor fled her abusive marriage. Apparently all of my friends (4 other dogs) were killed by the abusive husband :( and I was saved..... So, let me tell you.. I LOVE my FOSTER MOM and her DOGS and KITTIES!! And GLORY is my FAVORITE friend! We are kind of bonded and we want to be adopted into a non abusive home with a really really nice family! Glory came from a neglectful situation so she loves having me around to play with and to cuddle with and I give her confidence that she needs. We are an adorable couple and we are ready for YOU! So PLEASE adopt us!! Local adoption- together- is $400 (in TX) Out of state adoption- together- is $800 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Mouse is my handle, and I love my name! Now, my foster mom calls me Mouse turd sometimes....but she doesn't really mean it! She loves me, even when I act like a turd 😀 I am only about 4# right now and was found only about 1#! Just a teeny boy with a cute mug and plenty of swagger.... I am such a good boy, I love my doggy friends and keep them busy playing. But don't get me wrong, I sleep plenty! And I eat plenty and repeat..... I am likely going to be a medium sized dog full grown. Maybe 20-25#?? I came from a place where my mother was not spayed, so she was pregnant all the time :( However, the day I was saved, my mama was spayed!!! So, no more "accidental " litters, just a quiet life for my mama. I am almost ready for my forever family!! I will wait for you to find me, so hurry up!!! Story
Hope is the ultimate cuddle bug and has some of the best puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen! Since arriving at her foster home, her loving personality has really come shining through. Her tail now wags like crazy and she will happily curl up in the nearest lap. She fits the definition of a "velcro" dog and she'll trot along behind you from room to room, like your own adorable little shadow! Despite the colder weather, Hope's been a champ about taking quick potty breaks outside and has not had any accidents in her foster home. She is trusted to roam free while her foster family is at work and she doesn't get into trouble - just make sure to put the dog treats away! Although her specialty is cuddling, Hope is also playful and she especially loves her red squeaky ball and is pretty good at fetching! She’s very treat-motivated and learned to sit in just minutes. She is quickly picking up on leash walking when the weather allows. This is one very smart little dog and she'd be happy to learn any trick you teach her in exchange for a treat! Hope is currently living with a calm, larger dog and they coexist very well and politely share the couch. She would likely do fine with another calm dog but she would also love to be your one and only! Hope has done fine with the cats she's met. Hope has met older children and, after some initial shyness, she was eating treats from their hands and letting them give her belly rubs. She will likely do best in an adult home or one with patient, older children. This sweet girl is a gem and will make her forever family very happy! Hope is estimated to be 3 years old and 15 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. Story
Esther is such a fun little senior. She still has spunk and it SO EXCITED when you get home whether you are gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours. She does great with the other dogs in the house and tries to get them to play with her. Her favorite thing is laying next to her foster parents on the couch and watching TV. She is currently sleeping in bed with her foster parents and I suspect that will want that in her new home or she will voice her displeasure. She is doing great on her potty training and is almost there. Essther is estimated to be 10 years old and 8 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. Hello there! I'm Holly, and I have a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I will watch and follow you everywhere because my favorite thing is being with you. I love playing with crinkly toys, sleeping on a soft bed near you, and watching the resident dogs to learn the routine at home. Laying on my side for belly rubs is the best thing in the world. Well, treats make my day, too I’m almost house-trained and will go into the crate all by myself to sleep. I get along well with other dogs and totally ignore cats. I’d thrive in a home where I can be the center of attention. I’m not a very active dog but whether you have a family or live alone, I’ll be your loyal companion through thick and thin. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventure together! Holly is estimated to be three years old and 11 lbs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Buzz is a spirited 4-year-old chihuahua terrier mix with a heart full of love and a past that has shaped his unique personality. Having overcome a rough start in life, Buzz can be a little shy when meeting new people. He’ll greet you with a wagging tail, but sometimes that excitement can turn into a low growl as he navigates his insecurities. The best approach? Just ignore the growl, keep chatting, and let him warm up to you in his own time. This clever little guy is as smart as they come, though he can be quite stubborn too! Buzz has a playful spirit and adores his toys and the company of other small dogs. He’s a pro on the leash and is comfortable in his crate, making him a great companion for walks and downtime alike. Buzz is currently working on his potty training and is highly motivated by food—making him a quick learner with the right encouragement. He’s looking for a patient and understanding forever home where he can thrive and feel secure. If you’re ready to give this quirky guy a chance, Buzz is sure to fill your days with joy and love!   *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I’m Dirk!  I’m a handsome scruffy guy who is looking for a family of my very own.  I came here from a shelter in Arkansas where I found myself when my owner passed away.  I wasn’t there too long before I came to MN where I found myself in a foster home.  It took me a bit to open up to my new foster.  I was sad and confused since I had lost my home and owner.  I was lucky though that I got to come here with my sister.  I don’t need to be adopted with her, but if you have room in your heart I’d certainly love to be adopted with her.  When we meet I’m shy with new people and need a bit to warm up.  Once I trust you though then I’m a happy guy who loves neck scratches!  I lean into them and rub against your hand like a cat with the biggest smile while I dance in excitement.  I don’t care much about toys.  I do like to run with my doggie friends outside, but I don’t like when they get to wild.  That’s when I bark at them and tell them they need to chill out.  When I’m not out with my friends I can be found chilling out at my mom’s feet or sitting in her lap getting all the good pets.  I think I’d prefer a home that’s a bit more quiet with no little kids.  I just don’t enjoy being overwhelmed by their antics.  I’d love a fenced yard where I can sit and sunbathe, but if you don’t have one that’s ok too.  I’m not very into food and treats, but maybe my foster mama just hasn’t found the right ones yet.  I should also probably tell you that my back legs are pretty bowlegged.  The nice doctor said I was just born that way and that since they don’t bother me or give me any pain that they are ok.  Mama says I’m perfect and I couldn’t agree more! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Spanky: The Tiny Chi with a Giant Personality!   Spanky is a 4-year-old Chihuahua who packs a lot of personality into his little frame. True to his Chi nature, Spanky loves to be in the spotlight and isn’t afraid to make his opinions known. Whether it’s deciding when it’s playtime, cuddle time, or chore time, Spanky likes to have a say—and he’s not shy about sharing it!   This spunky little guy has a playful side and enjoys romping around, but on his terms. He’s not a fan of other dogs deciding when it’s time to play, so he’d be happiest as the star of the show in a home where he can call the shots. Spanky also has a unique way of “helping” his humans around the house. He absolutely loves being held while you’re doing chores, offering his tiny but mighty presence as your most adorable assistant.   Spanky is currently being treated for a possible tick-borne disease, which may explain why he can sometimes be a bit grumpy. As his treatment continues and his pain subsides, we’re hopeful he’ll feel even better and show more of his happy, playful side. This brave little guy is already making progress and proving just how resilient he is.   Spanky thrives with humans who can appreciate his big personality, respect his boundaries, and give him the love and structure he needs to shine. In return, he’ll offer endless loyalty, laughter, and companionship.   If you’re looking for a pint-sized pup with a larger-than-life attitude and a heart full of love, Spanky might just be the perfect match for you. Are you ready to let this charismatic Chi steal your heart? If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
