Hello my name is Mimi and I was surrendered along with my best friend Daisy after our owner died. Daisy and Mimi have to stay together. They are truly bonded and like to be right next to each other at all times. They are dog friendly and have spent a lot of time at boarding facilities and in large play groups. They are very social with people but we haven't seen them around kids specifically so we don't know how they'll do with really young kiddos. We also don't know how they are with kitties. They are house trained and are not big barkers. They just want a place where they can stay together after losing their owner. From their foster: Daisy and Mimi are two siblings that are a bonded pair. They spend lots of time together and will need to be adopted by the same family. They are such happy good girls. Both Daisy and Mimi enjoy going to daycare with other dogs, they are friendly with all types of dogs, so with proper introductions, they should be a good match with any other dogs (probably cats too! - although we haven't tested them). They are very small so keep that in mind. Most of the time, they are content to snuggle on the couch with one another - or the human, but they occasionally will run around and wrestle with each other or with other dogs. They are both so loving and affectionate with their humans. They love to be carried around, give kisses, and snuggled with. At first, they may be shy, but are quick to warm up with people. They are very food motivated and enjoy eating their meals in the crate. They would likely be easy to train due to this. From the vet team: Mimi has mild chronic bronchitis that is currently well managed but can improve with further weight loss and humidification of the environment. She has has a grade 2/4 bilateral MPL (luxating patella) that is not causing her any issues. Both of these conditions should be monitored with a primary vet.

Hi! My name is Magnolia and I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Magnolia is a sweet little bundle of affection. In general, she's pretty quiet and calm. She gets a burst of energy here and there and will shake her stuffed animal or take off running down the hall. Otherwise, she's very happy to be sitting wherever you are, in your lap or alongside you. She's a great snuggle buddy at night, and likes to burrow under the covers. When I leave the house, she goes in her crate easily. Sometimes she'll give me a bark or two when she hears me leaving, but that's it. She thinks it's fun to use her ramp to get up on the couch and will hang out there if I'm working. She likes to go outside in her cozy coat and walk around a bit, following my resident dog around. She is a bit cautious and shy, and needs a little reassurance when you reach down to pick her up. Most of all, Magnolia wants to be where you are, to snuggle and get scratches and all the love. She's adorable, easy to have around and is excellent company. Due to Magnolia's small size, she'd do best with older, considerate children who will take care to not trip over her, and to understand that she enjoys her peace & quiet, and is not too interested in playing. She has not been exposed to kids or cats. She coexists very happily with my large dog, but is careful to keep a bit of distance. She seems to be cautious of getting stepped on or bowled over by him. From the Vet: Magnolia has been in rescue while we managed a few medical concerns that came up in her first few weeks with us. She experienced some issues with her coordination which have since resolved. She also needed some eye meds as well as a plan to have full mouth extractions and an MPL (knee surgery) performed. She has had the dental procedure done and is recovering well. We are in the process of scheduling her R knee surgery in March. This surgery will require 8-12 weeks of activity restriction and some light physical therapy, so we hope to find her a quiet forever home that can help her through that recovery. She would be expected to make a full recovery and have several good years left if you can manage her sassy chihuahua behaviors. TBB would agree to cover the MPL surgery along with 1 suture removal and 1 recheck appointment post op + 1 round of medication associated with surgery as determined necessary by the TBB Vet Team.

Hi, my name is Cricket. I am from Alabama. From their foster: Hi, I’m Cricket and I’m from Alabama! Trixie and Cricket are a bonded pair so they will need to be adopted together. Trixie and Cricket’s owner passed away and they were brought to the local shelter. Trixie and Cricket are truly a dream team! They are the kindest, most affectionate little companions. Wherever you are, there they’ll be! They are quick to settle into a warm lap or lay by your feet. Cuddles and naps are their favorite pastimes. They require little more than food, love and affection. Trixie and Cricket haven’t shown much interest in going outside in the cold Minnesota winter, but I could imagine them romping outside in the summer sunshine. They are very small and will need supervision outside so that they remain safe from predators. Trixie is a bit more outgoing and rambunctious than Cricket who is light on her feet and quiet as a ninja. Together they make a great pair and they both have friendly temperaments. They have both had a “glow-up” since joining their foster. Trixie way spayed, had an abscess removed on her cute little tail, and had a full dental cleaning that resulted in 24 decaying teeth being pulled. She is now happy as a clam with the 4 teeth she has left. I swear she has the ability to smile and has a little raccoon in her. Her foster calls her a little woodland critter! Cricket was spayed and had a small mammary mass removed at the same time. She was such a trouper and we were glad to find out that the mass was benign. Cricket is so delicate and gentle and there is nothing better than watching her prance around happily. Cricket and Trixie have been both enjoying wet dog food and are currently working on potty training using puppy pads since they do not enjoy the cold. They haven’t met any children, but seem to be good tempered and would probably do well with children who were gentle with them. They get along well with the dogs they have met, but are pretty tiny so they need to be careful when bigger dogs want to play. They haven’t met a cat yet. The ideal owner for Trixie and Cricket would be around the home-front a lot, maybe working from home or retired. They would be ready to give love to two beautiful and resilient little girls and deserve to live the good life. When you wake up in the morning to their sweet little kisses tickling your nose, you’ll surely ask yourself, “how’d I get so lucky?” From the vet team: The vet team wants my future adopter to know that I have a grade 2/4 MPL (Medial patellar luxation). This is not causing me any issues at the moment so my future adopter should monitor with a primary vet. I recently had a mammary mass removed which came back as non-cancerous and a small mass on the top of my head evaluated. It is recommended my future adopters follow-up with my primary vet if it changes in size and monitor for any future mass development.

Hi! My name is Napoleon and I am from Minnesota! From his foster: Napoleon is the sweetest boy. He loves his people and wants to be where they are all the time. He’s a great cuddler and will take all the pets you are willing to give. Napoleon is a great leash walker and loves to go for walks. He’s a good eater and hasn’t been very picky here. We have 2 dogs about the same size as him and they are good with each other. He did sometimes resource guard his people but that is better and he rarely does that now. He doesn’t really play with toys. He seems interested but doesn’t really know what to do when he has them. He has chewed on an antler a bit but that is hit and miss. I think he is just learning to dog. I would say he’s 95% potty trained. He’s only had one potty accident since he got here. He did try to mark a couple times when he first got here but we followed him around and corrected that right away and he hasn’t done it since. We’ve had a couple #2 accidents but I’m going to blame the people for those as we didn’t really know his routine and you have to stay outside in the morning until he goes. I work from home so he is not crated very much. We have left him out when we have been gone for about an hour and he was fine. We have otherwise crated him when we are gone. He likes to sleep on the bed and he sleeps through the night. He has shown he is very chihuahua and is protective of his people and home. He barks when people come in the house but he calms down when he realizes they are friends. He hasn’t barked at people when we are out walking at all. Napoleon is a gem. Such a good boy and really just wants to be a snuggle bug.
