I’m a young pup with a lot of spunk and an even bigger heart. Things are going really well here, and I’m settling in nicely. I’m starting to show more of my *real* personality—let me tell you, it’s a fun one! I sleep pretty well in my kennel (although I’ll admit, the first few nights I let out some little whines). Now, I only bark for a minute or two at bedtime before I settle down. I’m working on that! I absolutely *love* to play fetch, especially with squeaky toys. They’re my favorite! I can spend hours chasing after them, and let’s just say, I’m really good at it. If I’m not fetching, I might be chewing. I really like chewing on stuff, but don't worry—my human keeps me busy with peanut butter in a Kong and lots of chewy toys. I did get a little too excited about a chew bone once, and ate it in just a few minutes. Oops! I’m a bit shy when meeting new people or other pets, but give me some time and I warm up quickly. I *really* want to play with the cats here, but they’re not as interested in me... rude, right? But that’s okay, I’ll keep trying. Car rides? YES, please! I love them. I either nap or watch the world go by, but I’d always rather be with my human. I follow them everywhere, especially if they're going to the kitchen! I’m right there hoping for a tasty snack. Actually, *any* food will do. I’m very skilled at giving you my best puppy eyes when you sit down to eat—sometimes I even try to get a taste from your mouth after you're done. I can be sneaky like that! Speaking of being sneaky... I once got into my human’s chapstick. Yep, I chewed the container and licked the balm (it tasted pretty good, honestly). My human was a little worried, but everything turned out fine. I’m fine, but they did get a little upset when I had an accident on the bed. I’ll try not to do that again. I’m doing better about using the potty pads, though! I don’t love the cold weather, but I’m getting used to it. I’ve got to learn to walk on a leash too—so far, not so great, but we’re working on it! I might be a little stubborn about it, but I’m a quick learner if you’re patient. One thing about me: I don’t like being left alone. I cry for a little bit when my human leaves the house, but I settle down once I realize they’re coming back. I think I’d do best in a home where someone is around a lot, maybe with older kids or adults who have a little more mobility since I’m a bit of a tripping hazard. I have so much love to give, and I’m learning more every day. With a little training and lots of patience, I’ll be the perfect companion. I need someone who can help me build my confidence, teach me proper boundaries (like not lunging at faces—oops), and guide me gently. I *really* love cuddles, and I’ll be your loyal best friend forever if you’ll let me. I’m ready for my forever home, are you ready for me? Love, Cricket Cricket is from Texas.
