I'm from Alabama! From his foster: Little Bit is a one of a kind guy. At our home we have been calling him Herb - because he reminds us of an old man with his constant love for napping and food! Herb is a dog with seizures, so he requires 3 times a day medication. He has improved a little bit with the crate but still isn't great. He does well being out with no supervision! He has minimal accidents in the house but we put belly bands on him and he does amazing with those. Herb loves nothing more than to snuggle under the blankets with you any time of the day! He loves food, so if you're eating be prepared to have him beg at your feet for a little taste! He currently lives with 2 dogs and 2 cats and does well with all of them! He loves kids as well, preferrably if they're over the age of 4. From the Vet: Hi, My name is Little Bit and I would like to share some information about my medical history. I have active epilepsy, however I am currently managing these episodes on anti seizure drugs three times daily and doing well as long as I get the meds on that consistent schedule. As long as you are comfortable and able to help me in this way, I know I will be an amazing addition to any family!

Hi! My name is Lil Bit and I am from Arkansas. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. From the Vet: As stated above I am currently undergoing heartworm treatment. I also need to be spayed and have a bilateral knee surgery to repair my grade 3/4 luxating patellas. My new adoptive family will want to be prepared to nurse me through the recovery of these treatments and surgeries. This will include a lot of activity restriction both during 30 days post HW treatment and 8 weeks post orthopedic surgery. I hope I can find a special home for a special dog like me. Hello friends! My name is Peter! You can call me Petey, Peter Pan, or whatever other nicknames you can come up with! I am a Texas boy! Have ya'll ever heard that the best things come in small packages? I am 3-4 years old and a whopping 8lb! I am a little skinny, so with some good food, maybe I can bump myself up to the 9lb mark! Almost as big as Texas!    My foster mom thinks I am a Chiweenie (chihuahua/Dachshund mix).  I am fostered with kids and other dogs large and small, and love them all! I could fit into most any forever home! I like to play but I also like to just hang out and cuddle up on a fluffy blanket too. My energy level is low/medium. I would love to go on some walks but won't require extensive exercise.  I am pint sized so I am very portable too! I can travel around in the car with you, or even on the airplane if we have big plans together!  I am doing well with house training on a schedule, and will need a home that can help me continue on a routine. Additionally, I do not like the crate and will yell if I’m in there; I will poo outside, but I wear a belly band inside; and I have limited leash experience because I can’t seem to stop myself from showing off my inner Houdini by wriggling out of my leash and harness. I am, however, always respectful of cats and good with other dogs so I will need a doggie companion when I go to my new home. All that said, once my humans have earned my trust, I am the sweetest, most affectionate little guy you will EVER meet! I am also very playful, and I LOVE to chew and run! That means that not only does my new family need to get the toy box ready with lots of chew toys, squeakers, and bones, but my new yard will need to be securely fenced so I can safely demonstrate my amazing ‘zoomie’ techniques! Hi, my name is Calliope. I am from Minnesota. From her foster: Calliope has puppy energy- squirmy, mouthy, high energy, sweet, goofy. She is learning to walk on a leash, looks forward to outside time, and needs regular exercise. She goes potty outside, but also has accidents in her crate and needs continued training. She is very small (5lbs!) and due to that (and her mouthy nature) would do best in a house without children. She would probably like another small, playful dog to be friends with. Unknown relationship to cats. She does vocalize when put in her crate, however she is not very loud and does settle eventually. She is good in the car and has a friendly reaction to new people. Likes: bounding in leaves, eating leaves, checking to see if things are food (they are not), rolling in the grass, making gremlin noises, belly rubs, knocking over her water bowl Dislikes: putting her harness on, being in a crate, slight breezes From the Vet: Hi! I'm Calliope and I was evaluated by a trused TBB vet partner. They noted that I have some tartar present on my teeth, however I don't have any fractured teeth or immediate extractions needed. TBB will not cover any dental procedure for me, but my future adopters should pursue recommendations for at home dental cleaning (ie. brushing, water additives, dental chews etc.) or future dental surgery from my new primary care veterinarian.
