Story
Maddie and her sister Merri found themselves in a pickle when their owner ended up having to move out of state. They are super cute and well socialised around other dogs, kiddos of all ages, and cats! They are doing great with potty training outside and also pee pad trained indoors. These two girls have a unique breed mix due to being an accidental litter of a chi/frenchie mix (mom) and a cattle dog (dad). They've got the best traits of all the breeds and are smart with great personalities!

Mitral valve disease occurs when the valve undergoes a degenerative change, thickens and becomes floppier. The cause is unknown but a genetic component is suspected. In stage B2 a murmur is heard and there is evidence of heart enlargement, but no signs of heart failure. Many dogs do not show any outward clinical signs (e.g., coughing, lethargy, inappetence) despite progressing to this stage, so it is important to have regular echocardiograms performed to catch it early. Pam is on 3 medications to manage her condition, the total cost is about $85 per month.   Pam is ready to be your side kick!   Foster Home Feedback  10/10/25 Foster Feedback: Pam is a sweet senior lady looking for her forever home. She is a happy old lady that is just looking for a soft bed. Pam sleeps in her crate at night and keeps it clean and dry. She is fine with the 2 large dogs in our home. She does not play with them, but she is also not worried about them. Pam is not much of a barker, but when she is excited she will follow you around doing a sweet little whine. Pam loves to be outside in the sun and running around the yard. Pam is potty trained but she will have accidents in the house if not let outside often enough. She will go and stand by the door to let you know that she needs to go outside. Pam is not much of a snuggler, and prefers to be curled up in a nice cozy dog bed.  This sweet little old lady is looking for a retirement home to live out her golden years! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org January 4, 2026, 7:36 pm

Story
Heidi is a 4lb chihuahua mix with a wiry coat. I rescued her from a hoarding situation in Texas 6/19/22 when she was estimated to be 2–4 years old. She has been an EXCELLENT dog. I am reluctantly rehoming her only because she isn’t compatible with my one-year-old. Heidi is extraordinarily sweet, quiet, and loyal, she stays out of trouble. Once she feels safe she loves to play and has the best teeny zooms! She has lived with other playful dogs and does great, though she can be protective of her food. She is a pro on leash, staying right by my side with her happy-go-lucky trot. After settling into a routine she is reliably house trained. All she wants is warmth—fireplaces, sunshine, soft blankets. She likes being held and will offer her belly for rubs. She is more of a hiking buddy than a handbag dog, yet she is extremely portable and travels PERFECTLY. Heidi is a truly charming girl who will thrive in a calm home where she can feel safe, adored, and understood. She is easy and lovable.
