Story
Meet Candice, who we call Cassy. She is looking for her forever home and would do awesome with an older couple that is looking for a lap dog but still has some energy to play.  She came to us scared and had few social skills with people and dogs. She was pregnant and due in 2 to 3 weeks. After having her puppies, she began to mellow and became a lap dog. She continued to become calm and socialized with my dogs. She learned to play with toys and tug of war with my dogs. She chases the squirrels but never fast enough to get them. She loves running in the back yard and chasing each other. She has learned to walk on a leash but will sit down and hold her ground when she is unsure of what she is expected to do. Kind words and soft tugs on the leash bring her out of it and the walk continues. She is unsure about the fall weather since she came from Mexico and she loves the heat. She will bathe in the sun relaxing listening to the birds.  She learned to potty on doggie pads and is doing great going outside. I still have to take her out in the mornings when it is a little cold but during the day just remembering to let her out she will go potty outside. She uses the pads at night but is working on getting her to hold it till morning and going outside. She is terrified of closed areas with little space. She loves to lay next to you or in your lap. She takes a couple of days to warm up to you and to trust you but once she has she is a loving kind dog.  Her health is excellent and she has all her shots and spayed. She had the heartworm shot and does not need heartworm pills till August of 2025. She is a sweet girl that loves to play with her toys and other dogs. I don’t have a cat so I have no idea how she will react to them. She has to establish her boundaries with other dogs and does awesome with little dogs and medium size. I am unsure about the bigger dogs. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $450.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 12:47 am

Story
Poppy will love you like no other. The line should perhaps read,  Poppy will love you but maybe no one else. One must truly understand the makeup of some Chi mixes, they sometimes pick their person and could care less about anyone else. Poppy will let other people know if she wants a pet from you or not quickly by showing her teeth and a bit of a growl. She has chosen my ten year old granddaughter as her person. I can pet and hold her most times except when she is laying down in her chair on the couch or her bed. She gets along with other dogs perfectly, cats too. She is not food or treat aggressive. She sleeps with my granddaughter but if she is off on a overnighter then I'm good enough to sleep with. She is house trained and house broken, hardly ever barks, walks great on a leash and is  a number one sun worshipper.  Poppy will let you sleep  In late before her morning potty break.  Her person/ family needs to understand that it would be best to remove her from the room when having company, not letting people especially small children around her in case she is in a diva mood. To the person she loves, she would perhaps lay down her life for you.. guaranteed she will sit, sleep and cuddle beside you forever. She prefers mid to soft foods after having her dental work done. She loves me when I make her her favorite meal of chicken breast and rice served in her green and white bowl. While Poppy comes with some baggage to the person/ people who understand she would make a good family member who is just asking for love and understanding. She was saved from the streets of Mexico, so no one knows her back story but you could be her happily ever after.   We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Andy! Andy is a friendly, active, and cuddly 1.5 year old Chihuahua. He loves people and is happiest when being held and cuddled. Andy is bonded with Aris and the two of them love to play together. He does great with other dogs and cats too. He loves to go outside and is working on housebreaking. He has an excellent temperament but gets excited and jumps up to give all the kisses, Because of this, he may not be great with small children. In the evening, Andy and Aris curl up in bed next to their foster mom, and Andy frequently burrows under the blankets for a nap. When it’s time to sleep, both dogs share a kennel and settle right in. He is looking forward to meeting this forever family!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
