You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chase was surrendered to our shelter on 5/3/2024 and is under 2 years old. He's a chihuahua/pit bull mix (yes, that's correct) and he has been bounced around a bit in his relatively short life. He's not quite a small dog and not quite a medium sized dog. He's a happy and enthusiastic fellow who bounces into the room to say hey. He has been vet checked, chipped, neutered, and his fee is $150. Chase loves people and attention, becoming a volunteer favorite in the months he's been with us. He's kind of been overlooked, which is a shame for this sweet guy. He will require some basic training. He is active and playful and is looking for a home in which he won't be alone for long hours. He has done okay with some adult dogs of similar size. Cats? We're not sure. Kids over 5 would be best for him. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Meet Harper. Harper is a special adoption. Harper has been in our rescue for 2.5 years. Why so long? Harper came from a hoarding case years ago and just still hasn't enjoyed people touching her. Is she the happiest dog you will meet? Yes she still loves life, loves other dogs and loves to lounge on the couch. Harper is looking for a home who will accept her and her fear of being touched and be ok with that. She is house broken and will use a potty pad. She really doesn't even need to go outside if you don't want her to. You can't walk her as she doesn't want you to touch her so fenced yard is required. She gets sedation to go to the vet. But she is loved and deserves love. We will waive her adoption fee for adopters willing to give Harper Lee a life. Roo Roo is the sweetest guy ever. He came from the streets of Mexico. Please read his whole bio as he does have a disability. Roo was born without front legs. This is a deformity from birth. That doesn't stop him from being a very social boy and getting around. He is 8.6 lbs. You have to be careful with food, so he does not get overweight. He will walk like a human on two legs, but he cannot go for very long and then he will lay his cheek to the floor to rest or slide himself along. He is getting a wheelchair made and will have that before adoption. He needs to be carried outside and brought back in. Things to consider with Roo. Big dogs are scary for him. He does well with small dogs. He cannot go downstairs, and you have to be careful with stairs. He can go up a couple but that takes a lot out of him and is risky. You have to be careful, so he doesn't fall downstairs. Roo does sleep in bed with his mom. He has to be carried on and off the bed, outside and inside. He probably would love a stroller. He does like to go places with his mom. He is house broken, and kennel trained. He is not a fan of dogs coming and going in the foster home, especially unneutered males. So, he would love a consistent life. Otherwise, his foster mom would have adopted him in a heartbeat. He is wonderful.
