You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. I’m Midnight, your future best friend. I’m known for my sweet nature and love for both dogs and cats. Curious and brave, I enjoy exploring every nook. Cuddling? Count me in! I’m perfect for snuggle sessions after a fun day, I love your lap!. I'm still mastering house training, but I’m eager to learn, especially with someone as patient as you. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will bring joy and laughter to your home, I’m your guy. Let’s start our adventure together! My adoption includes neuter, DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, a microchip with registration, and parasite control. Please note I'm on a special diet, Hill's C/D, as I've had bladder stones in the past. I'll need to be on this diet full-time. I don't poo in the house, but I sometimes have pee accidents and need to potty frequently or be crated. I can also wear a peekeeper!Midnight is in a foster home near Staunton, VAPlease apply at https://highlandcountyhumanesociety.org/available-animals/540.468.1575info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 8:28 pm

And they are right! They also say I REALLY like my food, but I'm not so sure when they start saying the word 'diet'. Does that mean I need to cut down on all my snacks? My foster says perhaps more carrots and less potato chips. As long as there are snacks, I'm good! I AM a bit on the rotund side and should probably weigh in at about 5 lbs. less. Enough about food, although it IS almost my favorite topic. Want to hear about all my really good qualities? I have been a good girl with all the other dogs I have met, walk nicely on a leash, and am oh so close to being perfectly house trained. I try really hard to do it all right. Does anything beat out food? YES! The best thing in the whole world is being held and cuddled. I live for it. My heartbeat will even sync with yours when you hold me. Yes, I will love you that much. You will be my everything. What are you waiting for! Buy some carrots, bring a snuggly blanket, and your heart. I am waiting for your arms to tuck me in against you for ever and always.  If you are interested in Cali, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 9, 2026, 8:47 pm

Solomon is house broken and loves to sit and watch people out of the front door and windows.  He loves being outside and loves walks in the park and around the neighborhood.  Solomon does not tear things up like mail, toilet paper, socks, or trash.  He also loves to cuddle and be rubbed.  Solomon hates baths and water but I give him a bath anyway telling him that he has to be clean. He loves treats and his favorite treat is duck wrapped sweet potato from Wal Mart.  Solomon loves bones and his favorite toy is Lamb Chop or any bear that he can tussle with.   Solomon does growl sometimes when he sees other dogs and cats. He also runs after birds if he sees them and barks. Slow introductions are needed with dogs, cats, and children. Solomon does get protective of his person, so he would do best in a home with no children and perhaps just one adult that he can bond with. If you are interested in adopting Solomon, please go to www.reachoutrescue.org and fill out an application and we will forward it to his caretaker for review. Story
He is around 2 years of age, 10lbs. He was a stray found in south Texas. His vaccines are up to date, neutered and recently treated for heart worm disease (his hair will grow back!) He is crate trained and loves his crate, he finds it to be his safe space He is potty trained but still wants to mark places, that has significantly gotten better in the last 48 hours that I have had him. He is nervous at first but loves to snuggle on the couch with us (especially on a soft blanket). gets along with dogs, cats and children. Has not whined or barked at all even with his foster dog siblings barking. Showed no signs of aggression at all. walks amazingly on a leash but does not know basic commands so far. If you’re looking for a small dog to give you kisses and just overall great company Beans is your man! He is being fostered in Hanover, PA Apply for him today… https://forms.gle/LDjduj2zTk7vvmHU7 Pa LIC #17216

Story
Small Body, Big Heart; Seeking a Patient Soul  Meet Sassafrass! This small treasure is looking for a quiet home where she can finally feel safe. Sassafras may be timid at first, often watching the world from a secure hideout, but once she trusts that you and her new environment are safe, she is the most loyal, affectionate little shadow you could ask for. Her southern foster mom described her as velcro. Sassafrass is looking for a patient household who understands the 3-3-3 rule: she will need time to adjust. Upon arriving to Pennsylvania, she stayed in a safe space where she could watch without interacting for about a week. Then one day, she felt secure and confident and suddenly blossomed! She joined the other dogs in play and began following her foster mom everywhere, just a step behind her. If you have a warm lap and a patient heart, Sassafrass will repay you for your patience with endless love and companionship. Sassafrass is 4 year old, 11 lb spayed Chihuahua mix, and is current on vaccines. She is fostered in Harrisburg, PA with both cats and dogs in her environment.
