APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. BUDDY is great small dog… not too big and not too small. He is about 18#. He is about 1 ½ yrs old. He is definitely a Chihuahua mix. The mix makes him a little bigger than most Chihuahuas. He gets along with all the fosters dogs and cats… AND PIGs. He is very easy-going…no stress. He is affectionate and happy. He is easy on the leash. Buddy came from a family with 6 kids of which one had autism. This child was just too rough with Buddy and the cat so they felt it was best to find the animals a new home. Buddy shows no signs of abuse. He is just happy, happy, happy. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. LADYBUG is the absolute cutest. She is a Chihuahua and weighs 3.5#s…DOB 8/13/24 (best guess). She will possibly get up to 5-5.5#s. She is energetic, wiry, and can easily jump out of your arms if you’re not careful. She is all FUN, FUN, FUN! LadyBug loves toys of all kinds especially stuffed toys. She loves other dogs and will bark at my cats…feisty little thing! She hasn’t really LIVED with my cats…she has seen them outside her kennel so they are something for her to bark at. I will not adopt her to a home with small children. It is too easy for a child to step on LadyBug and that’s the end. Even though is a tough little girl, she’s still so small. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Story
Name: Piper Sex: Female Estimated Age: 8 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: About 13 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats, and people! Housebroken? Piper is potty trained and crate trained. Story: Piper was rescued from Puerto Rico. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Piper is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with cats and other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Piper is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Piper will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Piper (who I have been calling Rosalita or Rosie, as a nod to her Puerto Rican heritage) is an adorable couch snuggler. She is very well-behaved in the home, and is content to lie on her bed and nap or watch her person when she's not with them on the couch. She is starting to get more confident with other people/dogs on our walks - she is happy to gently greet people and has even started getting a little excited or doing play bows with a few of the dogs we have met. I have been working on crate-training with her, and she is very content to go into her crate and take a nap when need be. Her favorite activities so far are going on walks to check out the smells in the neighborhood, and then getting cozy on the couch to watch some TV! The fee to adopt Piper is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Piper has been seen by a shelter vet and is being treated for Heartworm. Heartworm is a very treatable illness that is common in many shelter dogs coming from Puerto Rico. For more information on heartworm, visit our blog. If you think that Piper might be your perfect match, apply today!December 13, 2024, 12:16 pm

Story
Meet Debbie from our Ocean's 8 themed litter (1 year old, female, chihuahua mix, 10 lbs), a sweet and resilient mother who was rescued just in time from an abandoned home that was in terrible condition—certainly no place for a dog, especially one about to give birth. Despite her rough start, she welcomed her babies in a safe and loving environment, and she’s been an incredible mom ever since! Debbie is not only amazing at caring for her puppies, but she also has a heart full of love for humans and enjoys playing whenever she gets the chance. Though we’re still learning more about her, Debbie seems to be potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. She has a gentle and loving personality and is sure to melt your heart. She will be ready for adoption after her puppies have weaned safely, and she will be available on 12/27! Don’t wait—apply now to meet this special girl and fall in love with her.  To adopt,  please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org November 18, 2024, 9:38 pm

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Penny/Little Bit  (PEN0923OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Chihuahua MIXApproximate Age:   10-12 yearsApproximate Weight:  9 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Penny is a sweet and quiet little lap dog. She is looking for a loving, quiet, and nurturing home to live out their twilight years. She is apprehensive at first and when frightened she may nip as a defensive mechanism due to her very limited sight (bilateral cataracts) and limited hearing, but once acclimated to her new surroundings and trusts you she is 100% loving lap dog. She will approach for attention and is very affectionate after an initial "breaking in" period. She will need an all adult household, no steps unless gated so she doesn't fall down them. Believe it or not, Penny does walk on leash okay, but is low energy and would be totally fine with quick access to a fenced backyard or a pee pad so she doesn't have to go out in the cold big world where she can't see danger lurking.  She is well trained to the pee pads. She sleeps in a dog bed near her people, and her favorite is to be abe to get under a nice soft blanket to keep her warm. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. She is an adorable, cheerful and energetic little girl with lots of love to share! She gets the zoomies daily in her current foster home, zipping around the backyard or house at top speed. For this reason, she should have space to run, either inside or out. Toys or other dogs can direct her joyful puppy energy and she loves tug-of-war. Her tail double-curls when she’s extra happy! She’s very attuned to her surroundings and alerts when someone approaches the house. She is fully housetrained and has been fine with cats in her foster home. Her small size makes her easy to pick up, and she’s a super snuggler on the couch. She's also great in the car, happily jumping in and watching out the windows.  An apartment home might not be best because she sometimes barks when left alone, though this could probably be managed with a bit of training.  i  A house with a fenced yard and, if possible, another playful dog in the family would be perfect for her.  Cassie is super attentive and quickly learned to sit in her special spot outside the kitchen during meal prep. She has also learned ‘sit’, ‘quiet’, ‘stay’, and ‘spin’, and to sit and wait before going in and out the kitchen door. What a sweet face she gives as she tries so hard to follow directions and make you happy! She’s completely housebroken and is good about not doing her business on pavement or sidewalks. She loves a sniffy walk and will zig-zag through the leaves and grass like it's a true adventure. She does get excited easily and will bark if people move too quickly, such as runners going by.Cassie would welcome having another dog in her new home, but it’s not necessary. She has lived with a 40 pound Beagle mix who she joyfully raced and wrestled with on a regular basis. She is ok with cats, but she likes to give chase if they run. Cassie deserves a loving forever home where she will be treated like family. Could it be yours? Fill out an application today and meet this sweet girl in person!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
