If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.  You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Penny/Little Bit  (PEN0923OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Chihuahua MIXApproximate Age:   10-12 yearsApproximate Weight:  9 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Penny is a sweet and quiet little lap dog. She is looking for a loving, quiet, and nurturing home to live out their twilight years. She is apprehensive at first and when frightened she may nip as a defensive mechanism due to her very limited sight (bilateral cataracts) and limited hearing, but once acclimated to her new surroundings and trusts you she is 100% loving lap dog. She will approach for attention and is very affectionate after an initial "breaking in" period. She will need an all adult household, no steps unless gated so she doesn't fall down them. Believe it or not, Penny does walk on leash okay, but is low energy and would be totally fine with quick access to a fenced backyard or a pee pad so she doesn't have to go out in the cold big world where she can't see danger lurking.  She is well trained to the pee pads. She sleeps in a dog bed near her people, and her favorite is to be abe to get under a nice soft blanket to keep her warm. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Chanel is 12yo, weighs 10lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Chanel is kept in her bed during the day and a night; she does well during car rides; she doesn't like 'being left alone at home too long by herself'. Chanel's guardian explains why she has made the decision to rehome her:  "I'm currently pregnant with my first child.  And it is getting very hard to take care of her because she is not completely mobile." Chanel's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  "Pet is currently disabled, been to 2 specialists.  She has no broken bones and/or Lyme disease.  They are not sure what's causing her to not be able to walk." Chanel's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Chanel hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "She allowed kids to pet her and her tail wagged". Chanel's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Chanel has lived with dogs, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "She is friendly with other friendly dogs.  She is scared of aggressive dogs". Chanel's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Chanel hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She is scared of outside cats". Chanel's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Quiet Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side House-Trained Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Chanel's guardian describes her ideal future home: "She will be well with someone is home and or have other pets.  She doesn't like to be allowed giving her situation to not walk, but she loves company.  If she can get physical therapy that she something she can really benefit from.  When I was able to work at home with stretching her having her walk a little she was getting better."   Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Hyattsville, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
