Solomon is house broken and loves to sit and watch people out of the front door and windows. He loves being outside and loves walks in the park and around the neighborhood. Solomon does not tear things up like mail, toilet paper, socks, or trash. He also loves to cuddle and be rubbed. Solomon hates baths and water but I give him a bath anyway telling him that he has to be clean. He loves treats and his favorite treat is duck wrapped sweet potato from Wal Mart. Solomon loves bones and his favorite toy is Lamb Chop or any bear that he can tussle with. Solomon does growl sometimes when he sees other dogs and cats. He also runs after birds if he sees them and barks. Slow introductions are needed with dogs, cats, and children. Solomon does get protective of his person, so he would do best in a home with no children and perhaps just one adult that he can bond with. He's a small boy of only 7 pounds, and because of that, children in the home should be older than ten years or have experience handling small dogs. He wears a medium length tan/brown coat with a little graying on his face from age. Preston is very sweet and does well with other dogs. He can be a little shy with new people and new places but warms up very quickly. Even though Preston is a senior dog, he still has spunk in him like a pup! Oh, Nyx....where do I begin. This girl is a special one! She came to us when our vet asked us to take in a special needs puppy. Nyx was born with hydrocephalus and the breeder didn't want her so she surrendered Nyx to our vet. Her hydrocephalus doesn't affect her health in any way now but we believe it has affected her personality. Nyx is a very special girl who will need a VERY special adopter. One who is patient and calm and willing to accept Nyx for who she is! Nyx wants affection on her terms but will run from you if you try to pick her up. You have to go low and slow so she won't run from you. Nyx will HAVE to have a fenced in yard for that very reason - if she got out you probably wouldn't get her to come back to you. Nyx likes other dogs but doesn't really know how to play with them and can mean to them when she's just trying to get them to play. We think all of her quirks are a direct result of her hydrocephalus. She can be so loving, but she is definitely a quirky one! Nyx will do best with older children or a quiet household.
