ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14072 **$100 off of adoption fee in December!Meet Scrappy, a sweet boy whose love of lounging is matched by his love of exploring the outdoors on a nice walk. Name: ScrappyGender: MaleBreed: Chihuahua Mixed BreedAge: 4 years old, estimated DOB: Sept. 4, 2020Weight: 14 lbsCurrent Location: Baltimore, MDPersonality: Scrappy is a gentle and quiet boy who appreciates patience and encouragement as he is learning to come out of his shell in his foster home. So far, he hasn't shown a desire to play with toys, and is happy to just settle down for some rest and relaxation.Special Considerations: Scrappy would thrive in a calmer home environment where he can build his confidence and trust at his own pace. He does not require much play. While his foster mom hasn't seen him around cats, the SC shelter said he lived in an office with a cat. He's a quiet boy, making him a great fit for an apartment, rowhome, or other close-living environments.Companionship: Scrappy is a little shadow who likes to follow people around, but he prefers being pet on his own terms and can be a bit nervous if someone pets him before he is ready. Once he is comfortable, though, he will nudge your hand to get more scratches. He is well-behaved around other dogs.Training and Learning: Scrappy loves being outside on walks and has very good leash manners. He politely passes other people and dogs while taking walks. Scrappy is potty trained and crate trained. Scrappy will sleep quietly in his crate and during the work day and overnight, and he sometimes enters his crate on his own, just to hang out in there for a while. His foster mom doesn’t think he has seen indoor stairs before so he is still learning how to navigate them. He is working on basic commands such as "sit." He has good house manners and does not jump much, but might show some interest in delicious-smelling human food. Love and Affection: Scrappy enjoys snuggling on the couch close to his humans and is also happy to survey the room from his own nearby rug or dog bed. He is a calm boy who is easy to please.Scrappy is looking for his forever home where a new family will cherish his sweet personality and companionship. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Story
Bean is a 3 year old teacup Chihuahua. He is sweet, loving, and absolutely adorable. He is very tiny at just over 4 pounds. He loves rubs and scratches. He does well with other dogs but is best with smaller dogs. He loves hanging out with cats. We wouldn't recommend a home with young children due to his size. Bean loves to be cuddled and prefers to be carried. He does stay right beside you if he is not in your arms. He is learning to walk while wearing a halter and is working on potty training.  He loves to play with stuffed animals. His best friend is Archie. An ideal home would be where both could live together. Bean is the embodiment of great love coming in tiny packages. ##2183970##

Story
Meet Parker!  This precious little guy is 4 years old and about 12 lbs.  Evidently Parker did not have a very good life prior to joining Critter Cavalry.  We think he was bullied by another dog.  He is a 'sit on the sidelines and watch' kinda guy who doesn't really want to play with anyone.  He doesn't mind the other dogs and definitely is not mean.  He would just rather be with people.  Parker is super sweet and loves people.  He just wants to be where his foster mom is.  Parker would be a wonderful companion for someone that just wants one dog and who would like a dog they can take places.  He would love that and would love to be friends with all your friends.  He is just precious and very friendly.  He gentlY smells you to make sure you are OK and then he is good.  He was smiling during his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention.  If you are looking for a loyal companion then you have found him in Parker.  Parker is doggie door trained, neutered, current on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for Parker's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Parker is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
