LULU Breed: longhair chihuahuha Age: 9 years Weight: 12 pounds Adoption Fee: $325 Vetting Status: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative and maintained on preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LULU is an energetic 9-year-old chihuahua mix who loves lounging with her people, when not busy securing her territory from intruders like those evil squirrels or dumb birds. If you’re looking for a dog that will be your constant companion, Lulu is the dog for you. She loves spending time with you, either at your feet or on your lap. She tolerates other dogs & even the occasional cat, but would rather be your only dog. Lap time & cuddles are a must. Large dogs or small humans are bleh & to be barked at until they go away. She is housetrained & OK on a leash, so an apartment would be acceptable to Lulu.... though she may make you carry her up any stairs (doesn't every princess?). If you think LULU is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LULU is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!

Story
Hello World! My name is Fibi Dove and look at my BEAUTIFUL hair!! I mean look at it! It is all coming in and getting longer and longer!! And I love it!! It may seem a little weird that I am so happy to have hair, but it has been a long-time coming in. Let me tell you, my story. It was a dark and stormy night in a little town in Texas.... Well, I don't really know if it was dark or stormy, but it was in Texas. Anyhow, I was picked up by the dog police in a little town and I was very naked with infected itchy skin that made me nuts. I didn't have very much hair on my body and from my looks of me, it had been that way for a long time. The rescue pulled me from the dog place, and I started on my journey to get well. They tried this med and that antibiotic and this itchy treatment and that shampoo, but nothing worked until they figured out that I am probably allergic to beef and chicken, and who knows what else. My beautiful hair started to come back in when I started eating Salmon and lentil food and getting medicine for allergies from the vet. Finally, the itches were going away!! Yay!! I also was found to have the dreaded heartworms which I have undergone the slow kill treatment for, and I am all finished with that as well. Heartworm medications will be sent with me to continue my treatment routine for a year. During my many vet visits, it was found that I have a 5/6 heart murmur that is being treated with a pet heart medicine for life. I didn't have any symptoms, but they wanted to keep my heart strong, so the medicine was ordered. Because I was on the street for who knows how long, I am a little possessive of my food bowl at feeding time. I live with 3 other chihuahuas and we all eat out of separate bowls in the same room. I will growl at the others if they finish before I do and come to look in my bowl for more. But at 7.5 pounds, I am not much of a threat to anyone, but they listen to me and back off. I also live with cats and several other non-chihuahua dogs, one is 97# and I get along with them all. Personality wise, I am very sweet to people. I love to share you bed or lap and now that my skin is healed up, it is a lot comfier for me and for you to put me there. I do know how to go in and out the doggie door and when that isn't available to me, I have been known to use the potty pads that are out for the 18-year-old chihuahua that lives here with foster mom. Because of my medical history, I will need an adopter who understands my needs and is willing to follow through with my medical routine. If you think you can put up with giving me the pills, which I love in canned cheese on top of my kibble and green beans, then please fill out an application and let's talk! I will be waiting and growing more beautiful hair! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
I have heard the sentiment, "life starts after 50..." tell me you have heard it too?? It is absolutely the truth in my life!! Technically in "dog years' I am about 56, but I think it still applies to me! Found absolute SKIN barely over bone, by a kind lady and her husband...from MINUTE ONE... MY LIFE HAD MEANING!! I mean, REAL MEANING, to EVERYONE in the rescue! I went straight to the "bosses" house where my intense started immediately! I was just so emaciated that no one thought I had a chance of survival, and they were right... except my CHANCE came and I GRABBED IT by the HORNS! So here i am about 2 months later and I am so ready for my furever and ever and ever family to adopt me and complete the circle of life. I am about 8 years old, all my teeth have rotted out, but it doesn't slow me down! I am heart worm negative and have gained so. much weight, you cannot see my bones!! I am a teeny girl with a total chi personality, I will definitely let you know who I am when we meet but when the cuddling starts...you are MINE! Adopt me soon, I am ready to live the good life with my LOVING and COMMITTED family!! Local adoption is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

I.am.LEGGO!! No, not the kind you step on in the middle of the night with many expletives!! I am the GOOD kind of Leggo :) No foot pain, all love and cuddles! I am a great boy, I came from a sad situation and I am so so glad my "mom" saved me! I was left at my foster home's gate in my crate, after her neighbor fled her abusive marriage. Apparently all of my friends (4 other dogs) were killed by the abusive husband :( and I was saved..... So, let me tell you.. I LOVE my FOSTER MOM and her DOGS and KITTIES!! And GLORY is my FAVORITE friend! We are kind of bonded and we want to be adopted into a non abusive home with a really really nice family! Glory came from a neglectful situation so she loves having me around to play with and to cuddle with and I give her confidence that she needs. We are an adorable couple and we are ready for YOU! So PLEASE adopt us!! Local adoption- together- is $400 (in TX) Out of state adoption- together- is $800 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Mouse is my handle, and I love my name! Now, my foster mom calls me Mouse turd sometimes....but she doesn't really mean it! She loves me, even when I act like a turd 😀 I am only about 4# right now and was found only about 1#! Just a teeny boy with a cute mug and plenty of swagger.... I am such a good boy, I love my doggy friends and keep them busy playing. But don't get me wrong, I sleep plenty! And I eat plenty and repeat..... I am likely going to be a medium sized dog full grown. Maybe 20-25#?? I came from a place where my mother was not spayed, so she was pregnant all the time :( However, the day I was saved, my mama was spayed!!! So, no more "accidental " litters, just a quiet life for my mama. I am almost ready for my forever family!! I will wait for you to find me, so hurry up!!! Maximus is a sweet loving chihuahua mix breed. We adopted him from the Fort Worth animal shelter while living in Texas. We have since moved and now reside in Maryland. We have had Max for about 4 years now, he will be 7 years old on April 15, 2024, sadly we cannot keep him at our new apartment complex. We are passionate about finding him a new loving home as he has been shown nothing but love and affection since living with us.

Chanel's guardian explains why she has made the decision to rehome her:  "I'm currently pregnant with my first child.  And it is getting very hard to take care of her because she is not completely mobile." Chanel's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  "Pet is currently disabled, been to 2 specialists.  She has no broken bones and/or Lyme disease.  They are not sure what's causing her to not be able to walk." Chanel's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Chanel hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "She allowed kids to pet her and her tail wagged". Chanel's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Chanel has lived with dogs, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "She is friendly with other friendly dogs.  She is scared of aggressive dogs". Chanel's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Chanel hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She is scared of outside cats". Chanel's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Quiet Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side House-Trained Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Chanel's guardian describes her ideal future home: "She will be well with someone is home and or have other pets.  She doesn't like to be allowed giving her situation to not walk, but she loves company.  If she can get physical therapy that she something she can really benefit from.  When I was able to work at home with stretching her having her walk a little she was getting better."   Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Hyattsville, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
