Story
This little guy will break your heart, then crawl right into it. Sunny was found as a stray, thin and obviously not well cared for. His teeth were so bad that he didn’t want to be touched. He was in so much pain. Out vet took a chest x-ray to look at the condition of his heart and discovered he had been shot with a BB. When he first arrived at FLFO, he was reluctant to come near anyone. But we could tell he wanted to be loved. Once the bad teeth were removed and the infection treated, he’s now a complete lovebug. He wants to snuggle next to you and be held. The shelter estimated he was 16 years old based on his physical condition, but we think he’s younger. We’re estimating him to be around 12. Sunny loves long walks and has great stamina. FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD. Please complete an application found on this site: https://www.flfosenioranimals.org/adoption

Story
If interested in Duke, apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPAR/Dog Duke is about 2 years old and weighs just 8 pounds 7 ounces. This tiny boy has a calm, gentle personality and absolutely loves being close to his people. If you pick him up, he melts right into you and is happiest being held or cuddled. His foster even wears him in a puppy carrier while doing things around the house, and Duke is perfectly content just hanging out and watching the world go by. Duke has not lived inside a home before, so he is currently learning the routine of indoor life and working on potty training. He is doing well and just needs a little patience while he figures it all out. He does nicely on a leash but tends to prefer shorter walks for now. As he settles in and builds confidence, that may change. He rides great in the car and has a wonderfully easygoing temperament. Duke gets along well with smaller dogs, though larger dogs can make him a bit nervous. He has been around school age kids and teens and has done great with both men and women. He has not been tested with cats, but he is surprisingly indifferent to chickens. Duke has the sweetest nature and a very peaceful presence. He is the kind of dog that just wants to be close to his person and feel safe and loved. Like many of our dogs, Duke is a Sato. A Sato is a Puerto Rican street dog, and these dogs are known for being incredibly loyal, resilient, and loving companions. Duke is being fostered in Bel Air, MD. PLEASE READ: Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt! Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy. Thank you for understanding.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE A TEXAS BASED RESCUE. WE TRANSPORT OUR DOGS ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org 💛 Meet Rachel 💛 Rachel is a tiny, 8-pound, approximately 1-year-old Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix… with a heart that’s quietly waiting to bloom. She came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs, so the world is still a big, new place for her. At first, she can be a little shy—taking it all in, making sure everything is safe. But once she realizes she’s okay? Oh… that’s when the magic happens. Because underneath that shy exterior is the sweetest little soul who absolutely melts for gentle love. Because of her beginning she would probably do better in a quieter home with older children that can give her space when she needs it. Her favorite thing? Belly scratches. The kind where she slowly rolls over like, “Okay… I think I trust you… you may proceed.” And once you’re in? You’re in forever. 💛 💛 Personality: soft, gentle, and oh-so-sweet 💛 Favorite activity: belly rubs and quiet cuddles 💛 Secret talent: turning patience into the most rewarding bond you’ve ever had Rachel would truly thrive in a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes and help her see that the world isn’t so scary after all—it’s actually pretty wonderful. She’s looking for a patient, kind-hearted person who will give her the time she needs to learn all the things many dogs take for granted… Like gentle pets. Kind words. Exciting little adventures. Learning to walk on a leash for neighborhood strolls Dinner in her very own bowl. And those magical things called treats She may start off a little unsure, but with love and patience, Rachel will blossom into the most loyal, loving little companion—one who will look at you like you hung the moon. And trust us… there is nothing sweeter than earning the love of a shy dog. Apply today at haydudeequine.org if you’re ready to show this precious girl that the world is safe, kind, and full of good things (especially belly rubs)… Rachel is ready to find her happily ever after 💕

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🍯💛 Meet Honey — A Tiny Drop of Sweetness with a Whole Lot of Love 💛🍯 Female • 8 Months Old • 7 lbs • Chihuahua If happiness could be bottled up into 7 tiny pounds of pure love… it would look exactly like Honey. At just 8 months old, this little Chihuahua is already a professional snuggler, certified kiss-giver, and full-time heart melter. She’s the kind of pup who doesn’t just sit next to you — she melts into you, like she’s been saving up all her love just for that moment. Honey is incredibly social and friendly, the type of girl who believes everyone she meets is just a friend she hasn’t cuddled yet. People? Loves them. Other dogs? Yes please. Cats? Totally fine. She’s basically the “get along with everyone” committee chairperson. Her personality is beautifully laid back and easygoing, making her the perfect companion whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working from home, or just need a tiny shadow following you around making life better. Her daily hobbies include: • Snuggling like it’s an Olympic sport • Handing out sweet little kisses (free of charge!) • Perfecting her “pick me up, please” eyes • Being adorable… effortlessly • Light napping with occasional cuddle breaks And while Honey is mostly sugar and sweetness, she does have a tiny dash of sass — just enough to remind you she’s still a Chihuahua with opinions (mainly about when it’s time for more snuggles). Honey is the kind of dog who will quietly, sweetly, and completely steal your heart — and then curl up in it like it’s her forever home. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Honey add a little extra sweetness (and a whole lot of love) to your life. 🐾💛

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🤎 Meet Chandler 🤎 Chandler is a 1-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix with the most beautiful dark chocolate coat… and a heart that’s still learning it’s safe to shine. Out of his group, Chandler is the shyest. The quiet observer. The one who hangs back just a little, taking it all in and hoping—very softly—that everything is going to be okay. And the really special part? He’s already starting to believe it is. He’ll take treats gently from your hand (a very brave move, if you ask him), and he gets excited to see familiar faces. It’s like watching someone slowly discover that the world might actually have good things in it… and that people can be kind. Chandler came from a hoarding situation where life was very different from what most dogs know. So now, everything is new… and a little confusing… but also full of possibility. He’s looking for a calm, patient home—likely without small children—where he can take his time learning all the things other dogs take for granted: A soft voice that tells him he’s safe Gentle hands that give pets instead of uncertainty Meals in his very own bowl Leashes that lead to little neighborhood adventures And those magical little things called treats (he’s already a fan) Another confident dog in the home would be a huge help, showing him the ropes and reminding him that life can actually be pretty wonderful. Chandler isn’t the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one… but he is the kind of dog whose love, once earned, will mean everything. The quiet tail wags, the soft eyes, the “I trust you” moments—they’re the kind you never forget. And one day, don’t be surprised if this shy little guy turns into your tiny shadow… following you around like, “Okay… I think I live here now… and I love you.” Apply today at haydudeequine.org if you have the patience, the kindness, and the heart to help Chandler bloom... he’s ready to start his next chapter—with you 💕

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💛 Meet Phoebe 💛 Phoebe may be the tiniest of her group at just around 7 pounds… but don’t let her size fool you—there’s a whole lot of love packed into that stunning milk chocolate colored little body, just waiting to shine. At about 1 year old, Phoebe is still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. She can be a little shy when you first meet her—but give her a New York minute, and you’ll start to see her blossom into the sweetest little companion. And once she decides you’re her person? Game over. You’ve been chosen. 💛 💛 Personality: shy at first, but warming up into a total sweetheart 💛 Social life: loves playing with other dogs and would truly thrive with a confident canine buddy 💛 Life goal: find her human and never let them go Phoebe came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs, so she’s just now discovering all the wonderful things most pups take for granted—gentle pets, kind voices, meals in her very own bowl, and those magical little things called treats (she’s pretty sure those are going to be a favorite). She’s looking for a patient, loving home—ideally a quieter one with older, gentle kiddos—where she can continue to grow in confidence at her own pace. A doggy sibling would be a huge bonus, helping her navigate the “big, exciting world” moments and showing her that everything is, in fact, pretty a-ok. Phoebe is the kind of dog whose journey is just beginning. Every day, she gets a little braver, a little more playful, a little more herself. And being the person who gets to watch that transformation? That’s the really special part. And fair warning… once she comes out of her shell, don’t be surprised if this tiny little thing turns into your full-time shadow—following you around like, “Hi yes, I live here now and I will love you forever.” Apply today at haydudeequine.org if you have the patience, the kindness, and maybe a cozy spot on the couch… Phoebe is ready to find her person and start her happily ever after 💕
