Story
Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for critter.Cavalry turquoise noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public.  This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly.  She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us.  She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath.  Anna has lots of love to give and deserves  a family to spoil her.   Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 18, 2025, 12:12 pm

Story
Anna  Banana is our little neglected Puggle that came to us in emotional and physical distress.  Three months later this girl is thriving and has had a dental, bloodwork, her hernia repaired and love.  An abundance of love and patience that has brought out her sassy personality and her total confidence and desire to rule her home.  She was a dog that was confiscated from a neglectful home.  Taken to a  Tennessee shelter as a 14 pound, 9 year old senior, she stood no chance of leaving there alive.  All her medical challenges were corrected and she is a strong, energetic 9 year old.  She jumps and runs around as much as any puppy and certainly doesn’t ACT like a little old lady girl.  She's even started to enjoy playing with toys and it is a heartwarming joy to watch her act so happy.  Anna is crate trained and potty trained. She has become Miss Independent and gained a lot of confidence and now we see that she needs to honestly be the only Queen of the house.  She loves to dominate all the attention in her foster home and can be quite angry if she doesn’t feel that she has all the attention.  If you work from home, she will happily keep you company, unless someone else in the house heads for a nap. She is always ready to nap and snuggle.  She is the best snuggler and has an appreciation for comfy blankets and pillows. Anna Banana has blossomed and now is flourishing with lots of personality, a feisty attitude and a nose for having fun. And yes, she loves to be called Anna Banana.  If you are interested in making this girl your very close friend in life please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 4, 2025, 9:50 pm

Story
Cocoa Puff is a beautiful chocolate colored Chihuahua mix who weighs 8.6 lbs and is about 3.5 years old. Cocoa Puff was bought from a lady when she was only about 8-9 weeks old. The good Samaritan who heard about her, found out the lady only wanted to breed her, so stepped in and was able to get Cocoa. Cocoa has been in a safe and wonderful home for the past few years. Unfortunately, the current owner can no longer care for Cocoa Puff. Cocoa has been raised in a very loving, nurturing and wonderful home. The owner’s intention was never to keep her, but to find her a home, as the owner had her own dogs to care for. The right owner/home never came forth; therefore, she kept her. Cocoa Puff is an owner surrender, and we promised we would find her the best home. Here is what the previous owner has said: *House Trained *Not too impressed with a crate *LOVES ALL AGE CHILDREN *LOVES all dogs *Very active and playful *Never been exposed to cats as owner is allergic, so unsure *Loves to climb into furniture *Loves to climb high ON furniture (haha) – Owner said even bookshelves, DAREDEVIL! *She will do her best to poop in your neighbors yard if there is a chain link fence *Doesn’t like rules too much, quite DEFIANT (what a chihuahua!) *Rules the roost, other dogs follow her *Kids in the current home are 4 and 6 years old, no issues *She is more active than a cuddler but when she’s tired she will cuddle *Cocoa LOVES car rides, especially in her high carseat so she can see out of the windows *She sleeps everywhere and anywhere she is comfortable Cocoa Puff needs an active home, where she can get plenty of exercise, training and consistency. Other dogs and/or children are PREFERRED. Cocoa is spayed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, preventions, and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. Story
Camelia and Flora are sisters that were born on January 3, 2025 – they weigh approximately 4.2-4.4 lbs each (as of 3/31/25) They were born in a home that is a known “hoarder” house in the valley (Texas/Mexico border). Unfortunately, animal control won’t do anything. The house is known to get bored of dogs/puppies and open their gate and let them roam the streets. Camelia and Flora came from this home. These 2 beautiful girls are your typical happy go-lucky puppies. They are full of sass and spunk. They love to be around people and LOVE to play. As you can see in their videos, they are so so sweet. They aim to please and love to be baby-talked to. We do not believe they will get over 15 lbs once full grown just based on their size now (they can almost fit in your hand!) They love all toys and love everyone and anything. The foster does have cats and her cats are way bigger than the puppies so we know the puppies will if anything, be more scared of the cats than vice versa! Flora and Camelia love other dogs and would do wonderful in a home alone or with other dogs/cats. Children: While they are very friendly, sweet, gentle puppies – they are very small. We ask anyone looking to adopt please be aware young children can hurt such small puppies and if you’re truly looking to adopt, please ensure that your children are kind and well behaved enough to know how to handle such small puppies. House training: If you’ve ever had a puppy this young, and a small breed puppy, you know you will have to tackle house training. They are not house trained currently but we know with love, time, training and consistency, they’ll master it! They love to be held and truly just love to be loved on. They are not your typical scared chihuahuas, they are outgoing, social and ready for their forever home. Both puppies are current on vaccinations, dewormer, heart worm and flea/tick prevention, will be microchipped and issued a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. Our small breed puppies usually are adopted quickly, if you are interested in adopting we strongly suggest filling out an application as soon as possible. You can do so on our website at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org
