She is an adorable, cheerful and energetic little girl with lots of love to share! She gets the zoomies daily in her current foster home, zipping around the backyard or house at top speed. For this reason, she should have space to run, either inside or out. Toys or other dogs can direct her joyful puppy energy and she loves tug-of-war. Her tail double-curls when she’s extra happy! She’s very attuned to her surroundings and alerts when someone approaches the house. She is fully housetrained and has been fine with cats in her foster home. Her small size makes her easy to pick up, and she’s a super snuggler on the couch. She's also great in the car, happily jumping in and watching out the windows. An apartment home might not be best because she sometimes barks when left alone, though this could probably be managed with a bit of training. i A house with a fenced yard and, if possible, another playful dog in the family would be perfect for her. Cassie is super attentive and quickly learned to sit in her special spot outside the kitchen during meal prep. She has also learned ‘sit’, ‘quiet’, ‘stay’, and ‘spin’, and to sit and wait before going in and out the kitchen door. What a sweet face she gives as she tries so hard to follow directions and make you happy! She’s completely housebroken and is good about not doing her business on pavement or sidewalks. She loves a sniffy walk and will zig-zag through the leaves and grass like it's a true adventure. She does get excited easily and will bark if people move too quickly, such as runners going by.Cassie would welcome having another dog in her new home, but it’s not necessary. She has lived with a 40 pound Beagle mix who she joyfully raced and wrestled with on a regular basis. She is ok with cats, but she likes to give chase if they run. Cassie deserves a loving forever home where she will be treated like family. Could it be yours? Fill out an application today and meet this sweet girl in person!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
