Story
Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. Maximus is a friendly goober with a good amount of energy. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his mannered but responds well to correction. He deserves only the best home after what he has been through. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Gandolph, a five month old Lab mix weighing 42 pounds. Gandolph is a friendly boy who came in from a house with too many dogs. He was brought in with his siblings Greta and Garfield. We know Momma is a lab mix but dad is unknown. Gandolph is a very sweet boy with big paws and a dorky personality. He is going to make someone a fantastic pet. Please remember that Gandolph is a puppy and puppy behavior comes with the package. They need basic training and potty training along with being provided chew toys to encourage proper chewing habits. All puppies require socializing from a young age to help them become the best, most well-rounded dog they can be.This pet is available for adoption on 2/22/2025 at 6:05 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Fenrir, a one year old Lab/Shepherd mix.Fenrir was a part of our My Last Litter Program and adopted out as a puppy a year ago. Unfortunately her family returned her for `not being trained`. They say Fenrir has been around men, women, kids, dogs and cats without issue but she does play with the cats. This girl is understandably extremely unsure as to why she is at the shelter and we are determined to not let this happen to her again. The next home she has will be the forever home she deserves that will dedicate time to her and help her become the best dog she can be. Despite her entire world being flipped upside down Fenrir is incredibly sweet and we see a lot of potential for this girl. She sits for treats and really just wants to please her people, she just needs someone to show her the way and she will follow them wherever they go.
