Story
Prepare to be enchanted! Meet Parvati Patil! Parvati Patil is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Born in September of 2024, Parvati Patil is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy with silky medium length brown fur, adorable floppy ears, and warm, light-colored eyes. We estimate she will be in the 40-60 lb. range when grown. Parvati Patil and her sister apparated here from Texas; they were born at a stranger’s house and had very limited contact with people until they were turned in to a shelter.  Parvati is quickly learning that people are awesome and great sources of food and treats. Part of our Wizarding World orphan litter, this delightful pup hopes to cast a spell and find a new home where she will bring some magic into your life! While Parvati Patil in the books was a Gryffindor, our Parvati displays traits associated with several houses. She’s loyal and gentle like a Hufflepuff; she has made friends with other dogs, cats and kids. Like many Ravenclaws, Parvati is curious, and she can be an introvert before showing her loving, funny nature. She can be a leader and an athlete like a Gryffindor, actively initiating games and romps with the other dogs in her foster home. Parvati gets the zoomies, and she loves it when other dogs join in! Chasing balls is another favorite activity for Parvati; she will bring them into her crate after bouts of fetch just for the fun of it. She will toss her toys into the air and then lay on them. Parvati likes to cuddle, and it is so endearing when she settles in next to you for some snuggling. Sudden movements or noises can startle Parvati, so please no apparating around her. So far, we haven’t seen any Slytherin traits. Parvati Patil takes her studying seriously, and she is diligently working on her skills. She has no trouble spending long periods of time in her crate and sleeps through the night. Parvati Patil has begun leash and obedience training and has progressed quickly through potty training. She is very food motivated, and she adores meals times. If you want to win her heart, have a treat handy! Parvati Patil’s ideal home?  This sweet, affectionate girl seeks someone to love who will love her in return. Lots of snuggling and playtime would make her the happiest of pups. She would do well with kids and cats; Parvati would thrive with an older dog role model to help teach her the ropes.  Parvati seeks an owner willing to take things at her speed, who will support her as she grows in confidence and ensures she learns the skills that will make her a happy and well-rounded dog. If you are looking to add a little magic to your life, Parvati Patil might be the puppy for you! Want to meet Parvati Patil? Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Meet Padma Patil! Padma Patil is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Padma Patil, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery in mid-February. Born in September of 2024, Padma Patil is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix puppy with silky black fur, adorable floppy ears, and warm chocolate eyes.  She has the sweetest face! We estimate she will be in the 40-60 lb. range when grown. Padma Patil and her sister apparated from a shelter in Texas; they hope to cast a spell and find new homes in the PNW. Part of our Wizarding World orphan litter, this delightful girl will bring some magic into your life! Padma Patil in the books was a Ravenclaw, and our Padma displays some of those house traits. She is a happy, curious girl who likes to explore her new environment. Like many Ravenclaws, she can be introverted, and when she decides you are one of her people, she gives you all her loyalty and affection. Friendly Padma Patil does well with other dogs and cats; she has fun playing with the children in her foster home. After some romping (she’s a medium energy pup), she will jump up on the couch to join you for some snuggles. She is quite content to have you all to herself.  Our Padma Patil might not excel in Potions Class; she finds the bubbles in her auto feed water bowl a bit disconcerting, so no bubbling cauldrons for her. Padma Patil takes her studying seriously, and she is diligently working on her skills. She has no trouble spending long periods of time in her crate and sleeps through the night. Padma Patil has begun leash and potty training, and she will start obedience shortly. She is a curious girl who is eager to learn. Padma Patil’s ideal home?  This sweet, affectionate girl seeks someone to love who will love her in return. Lots of snuggling and playtime would make her the happiest of pups, and siblings of the dog, cat or kid kind would be lovely. If you are looking to add a little magic to your life, Padma Patil might be the puppy for you! Want to meet Padma Patil? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
