Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. Meet Girly Girl! Girly Girl was found on a mail route and rescued by the sweet mail lady. Due to animal cruelty, she had to have her tail amputated, however, that hasn’t stopped her from wagging what’s left. It actually just adds to her sweet personality. For her to have such a chaotic and painful life, she is very well behaved and loving. She does well on a leash and doesn’t try to pull you down. Oddly enough, she isn’t a fan of treats but she is a fan of hugs. Girly Girl is out of pain and receiving the attention she has always deserved but she needs one last stop to know she’s home.
