Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. While there a dog auction was taking place & we wanted to save who we could from that pure evil of being a breeding machine & living in a cage & brought out & forced to breed then shoved in a cage for their life. So we bid on Blueberry & we are so very glad we did as this boy originally was a scared mess & they clearly had not been kind to him. He stunk of urine when he arrived. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Blueberry how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is his loving foster home. Blueberry & his friends were bought back to WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. When this beautiful boy first arrived he was absolutely terrified of everything & didn’t trust humans at all. Who could blame him? But thankfully he had his loving foster friends to help him feel more comfortable & his foster mum worked on helping him to trust humans & his new life & foster home. This boy is now very confident & obsessed with his foster mum. He will be found sometimes just staring at her. He is in love with his foster siblings & will play with anyone who will play with him but then will be off doing his own thing at times. Blueberry is the best of both worlds, he will play but then be happy to snuggle up with you. He taught himself to go up & down the hardwood stairs in his foster home. He now knows what toys are & loves playing with his toys. He has been learning to go potty on material potty pads & outside. At first he did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in his devoted foster home. He absolutely loves his foster siblings & we have tested him with countless breeds of dogs. He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little chap. He adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. At first he had no idea what it was to be held & loved but now he gets ready to be picked up. He will be uncertain at first in his new home but once he is comfortable that will change. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside in a cage. Blueberry is a wonderful eater & we know that he is obsessed with food in his loving foster home with the good nutrition he is getting. He eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains, raw proteins & supplements. He is obsessed with his treats & loves bully sticks & collagen sticks. His treats are also homemade for him. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He currently sleeps with his foster siblings & you will find them snuggled up together their foster mum said. He absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing. He is such a very innocent sweetheart who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet in his foster home. He is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. Blueberry is wonderful with his foster mum bathing him & he was good with some of our other volunteers grooming him & bathing him. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash as in his foster home he has a fully fenced backyard & gets to go out freely. Blueberry rides beautifully in the car & loves a good car ride & car outing & adventures once he knows you. Blueberry as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Blueberry where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Blueberry is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Blueberry has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster home. He will be found snuggled up with his foster siblings. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. He needs a very playful dog in the home for him to play with. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard with a freestanding dwelling. Blueberry is roughly 24 lbs & he is 16 months old & a cavapoo. He has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue in his loving foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies when we first get them. Male, he is neutered by laser, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, rabies dewormed. We have spent far more on Blueberry with bidding on him to stop him from being used as a breeding machine & living his life in a cage & only brought out to breed & go back into a cage & bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. Blueberry has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had him around small children & he adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Blueberry was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Blueberry’s friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Blueberry potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Blueberry & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Blueberry who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Blueberry. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Blueberry has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

The big personality of this so dedicated to life & to be adored & loved girl Miss GuiNiu, ended up in a meat market in Mudanjiang & yes you read that correctly. This beautiful girl ended up in a meat market for human consumption after a breeder had used her & then was rescued from there & ended up in another shelter. What we do know is, she was pulled out of there on deaths door with pneumonia so severe it almost took her beautiful precious life. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued GuiNiu & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting GuiNiu out, her fate was death alone just from the pneumonia. She transferred GuiNiu to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with GuiNiu & many other sweet souls she got well & brought back to health which took a very long time as their immunity was so severely compromised from the condition she had been living in & waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as GuiNiu & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now GuiNiu is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. GuiNiu was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. GuiNiu was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Considering how deathly ill GuiNiu was in China & on deaths door it’s a miracle she survived along with her friends. To the adventurous big personality, oh so fun & bounds of bouncy energy to the girl she is now. Look out world here comes the ready to go on a hike, run, play beautiful spirited GuiNiu. GuiNiu is looking for a forever home who will walk her, run with her & have lots of adventures. It’s unbelievable to think she survived pneumonia & being in hell at a meat market for humane consumption to who this girl is now, a healthy loving girl who just wants you to give her lots of love, cuddles & affection. She is nothing but so very sweet & affectionate. She has enjoyed eating since she has been here in the US, but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding her is all new to her & just being fed all the time is new to her. She has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. GuiNiu is learning to walk on a harness & leash & done so well with us so far but would still need continued work, as she is so excited when going on her walks, she will pull & is quite strong but is really good. She also does not care about dogs or react to them when at the park. GuiNiu adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general. GuiNiu is so good with being bathed. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & she has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs so we are only looking for a home for her with another dog in the home she can play with. GuiNiu also did so well with our vets when she went & had her dental. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to GuiNiu & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. This little stunning lady has energy galore, bounds of fun loving energy. She is making up for lost time & who could blame her. She is good with other dogs & we have her with other dogs, in her new forever home there must be a young dog or young dogs for her to play with. GuiNiu has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car but we always have her with other dogs when in the car. She is such an amazing soul, she will try to stick her head out of the window if you are on the outside as if to say, “why am I not out there with you, let me out, I want to be with you”. She just sits back & enjoys the journey. With GuiNiu we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for GuiNiu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. GuiNiu is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. GuiNiu has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or other dogs in the home in the home as she loves playing with dogs. We currently have her with other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for GuiNiu’s new forever home. GuiNiu is now roughly 40 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, she is 4 years old & perhaps a standard poodle. She is spayed & female, she had a dental/scale & polish, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on GuiNiu with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs alone bringing her through cargo was over $3000, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/ scale & polish, spay, shots, microchip, etc & then bringing her to WA with her transport fees than her adoption fee comes close to covering. How Jam ien survived on the deathly streets of China with his beloved brother Jie & nothing happening to them to this day we will never know. We cannot even begin to imagine what Jam ien witnessed & heard when he was on the streets for almost a week. What we do know is, that Jam ien kept his brother Jie safe & everywhere they went Jie would follow Jam ien & he more than likely kept him safe & alive. What we do know is, Jam ien & his bonded brother Jam ien were rescued off the streets by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the extremely dangerous situation he ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers they rescued Jam ien & many others for us. Jam ien was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Jam ien was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Lovely little chap Jam ien & his brother Jie have come such a long way since being rescued in China. They have really flourished & gotten so much more confident. It depends upon the person who he tends to like more, wether it is a female or male. The boys were in 2 foster homes & in 1 foster home they loved the foster dad over the foster mum & did everything with the foster dad & loved him & was not interested in the foster mum. Then in their other foster home they preferred the foster mum over the foster dad but still liked the foster dad. We think for Jam ien he needs a home with a backyard as in apartment living with the noises he just don’t do well with the different unknown noises but in a house would be ideal for them. Jam ien has enjoyed eating since he has been here in the US with all the new tasty food he gets but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding him is all new to him & just being fed all the time is new to him. He also enjoys a good treat. He has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. Jam ien loves you once he knows you & trust you & will paw at you to get your attention or to be picked up. He & is brother are very similar but their personalities have changed & flourished since being with us. Jam ien does really well on her harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach him how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Jam ien is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Jam ien adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Jam ien is so good with being bathed. With Jam ien we had him with many breeds of dogs & he has done well with different size dogs. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Jam ien & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He is making up for lost time & who could blame him. In his new forever home he will more than likely sleep wherever his brother is, they are 2 peas in a pod. But with the right forever home he may want to sleep in the bed with you. Jam ien has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride once he knows & trusts his people. He is such a sweet little guy once he knows & trusts you just like his brother. He just sits back & enjoys the journey. With Jam ien we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only because of his horrendous past. Absolutely no crates for him. He gets very frightened when put into a crate. We are also looking for a forever home for Jam ien where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Jam ien is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Jam ien has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs in his loving foster home. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Jam ien’s new forever home. Jam ien is now roughly 14.6 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, he is 2 years old & perhaps a miniture poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays & 1 premolar extraction. He is heart worm negative, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Jam ien with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, alone bringing him through cargo, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish & dental x-rays, 1 premolar extraction, neuter, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. The most beautiful, loving soul you will ever have the pleasure of meeting & our love who deserves the most amazing forever home. The hell BeiBei witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse is soul destroying to think about what he endured. How BeiBei ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? BeiBei was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. BeiBei such a softe gentle soul & so forgiving of our standards. This boy will love you & trust you once he knows you. He has truly been to hell & back. It appears in China a dog ripped off half of one of his ears & of course it was never treated & just healed naturally. He now knows no difference, it’s on ascetics. Poor him. He is a joy for us in this rescue & we love him dearly. This beautiful boy has seen & lived an absolute horror show. His past is so vile & now he his joy & zest for life pours into everything he does. He is such a sweetheart, who just wants you to love him & he is so easy to love, that’s BeiBei. He is slow to warm up to some people & others he adores immediately. It’s beyond brutal to think what came so close to happening to him as he is the sweetest, lad & loves to be held & cuddled & those eyes look straight into your soul. He has energy though when he sees his friend HeiDou but can have energy so in his new home he would need to be played with or taken on walks & needs another dog friend in the home to play with. With us though he will also lay around. He will stand on his hind legs & hug you to show you how much he loves you. He loves both men & women but we would say women more & he gets attached pretty quickly to you. He has enjoyed eating since he has been here in the US with all the new tasty food he gets but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding him is all new to him & just being fed all the time is new to him. He also enjoys a good treat & that would be many treats. When BeiBei arrived he was so skinny, it was extremely sad how very thin this boy was. He has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. He knows now what love & happiness is. It’s as if when he looks at you he is constantly saying, thank you for loving me. He still needs to put on continued weight though in his new forever home. BeiBei is still being taught to walk on his harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach him he does really well but would need continued work. BeiBei is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. BeiBei adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love & cuddled. BeiBei is wonderful when it comes to being groomed & given a bath. We don’t believe he had hardly had many baths before us. With BeiBei we had him with many breeds of dogs & he has done well with different size dogs & loves to play, play play with other dogs & loves humans company to. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to BeiBei & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He is making up for lost time & who could blame him. In his new forever be prepared as he may want to sleep in bed with you. BeiBei has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such a sweet soul. He just sits back & enjoys the journey. With BeiBei we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only because of hid horrible past. We are also looking for a forever home for BeiBei where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. BeiBei is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. BeiBei has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where he can be with another dog or dogs as he adores them. We currently have him with other dogs so in his new home it’s mandatory to have another dog for him. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for BeiBei’s new forever home. BeiBei is now roughly 40 lbs & has put on a extraordinary amount of weight since coming to the US with us, but would still need continued weight put on in his new forever home. He is 3 years old & perhaps a standard poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he had a dental/scale & polish. He is heart worm negative, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, had his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on BeiBei with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, alone bringing him through cargo, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish, along with, neuter, shots, microchip, feeding him etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. BeiBei has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend children nor cats, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when BeiBei was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & BeiBei’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is BeiBei potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting BeiBei & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for BeiBei who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. BeiBei has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
