While she might take a bit of time to warm up, once she trusts you, she’ll be your loyal and constant companion. Her favorite activities include snuggling up in her cozy beanbag and soaking up attention from her foster mom. She also enjoys the company of her furry foster siblings, often laying with them and following them around, making her an ideal match for a home with other dogs. Priscilla is still working on her potty training, so she’ll need a bit of patience and guidance in this area. A home with only older children who can offer gentle love and understanding would be the best fit for Priscilla. Priscilla has been great on the leash and is doing well with her potty training. She has a quirky habit of hoarding toys, taking them to her beanbag or hiding them on her foster mom’s bed. She also enjoys chasing a ball outside, showing off her playful side. Tatum is a small (15 lb), 3 year old bundle of toe-tapping energy wrapped in a Cavapoo body. She is quickly learning how to be a regular dog and is making great strides every day. Tatum gets along wonderfully with all of her foster's dogs and loves to cuddle with them on beds. She is a couch potato at heart and has become quite attached to laying on her Foster dad's lap. At night, she prefers sleeping in the bed, snuggled up to a human, where she feels most secure. Whether in a home with other dogs or as the only lap dog in the house, Tatum will be content. She coexists peacefully with the foster's two cats, showing no interest in them. Initially a bit shy, Tatum is gradually coming out of her shell and showing her sweet personality. Tatum has mastered the stairs and is making steady progress with the doggy door and house training, having fewer accidents each day. Treatment is typically 28 days of doxycycline (an inexpensive antibiotic). With this disease, a dog may always test positive even if treated. The adopter is responsible for treatment, including cost. Its always a good idea to plan to keep your dog on a joint supplement for life. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and 11 to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
