Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 5/17/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Sophie to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Sophie ❤️ She is a 6 month old purebred standard poodle. She currently weighs 31 lbs. She still has a few months of growth left, and is estimated to be around 40-45 lbs lbs full grown. Right now, she is at a healthy weight 🙂 She is current on all vaccines, microchipped, has been dewormed through the findings of a fecal test that was sent off to the lab, and had a thourel exam with our vet who had cleared her to find a home all her own. She is not yet spayed, and it's best to wait until she reaches full maturity prior to sterilization so she will be going home on a spay contract. She is an amazingly sweet, gentle, and kind hearted girl ready to open her heart to a human/family all her own ❤️ She is that beautiful friend you have been patiently waiting for to come along and fill your life with an unimaginable amount of lovr and joy 😊 She is VERY good with dogs and cats. She loves being everyone's friend and will play with every new friend as if they have been a friend forever. She is very gentle, but very playful so if you have another well tempered animal for her to join in life, she will happily fill that role! If not, that's okay too as she truly loves being with her person/family and will do just fine being the princess in her new home 💓 She is very well behaved in the home, and will lounge nearby on a bed while you are tending to things around the house. She will occasionally follow you around to see what you are doing but will go back to taking a nap or play with a favorite toy until you are able to hang with her 😊 She LOVES road trips and is ALWAYS ready to go for a ride around town, and would really enjoy trips of any length so matter where the road leads you as long as she gets to do it aside her favorite person! She has an adventurous spirit and is always happy to tag along ❤️ She is NOT high energy and while she enjoys running and playing when the moment presents itself, she is very calm, and docile for the majority of the day. She also loves watching tv! So if you have a good show you are currently watching, she would love to keep you company (especially if snacks are involved 😉.) She is NOT a barker, but will alert you of unfamiliar noises. She listens very well though and always comes back when called, and told that you have it under control. She really loves to please her person, so listening is something she does well 🙂 She is PHENOMENAL with men, women, and children alike. She truly loves everyone she meets and is a socialite by nature. She is ready to spread joy everywhere she goes, so if you are willing and able to lead the way then come and add this precious girl to your world!!! She is doing WONDERFUL at house training and goes outside every 3 hours throughout the day to use the restroom. She currently sleeps in our room at night on a dog bed, and will sleep all night peacefully. She goes outside first thing in the morning to use the restroom for us. She has been really good about holding her bladder in the time she has been with us, so having a schedule in her next home will help her to continue doing as well as she has done here. She is crate trained, but doesn't currently use a crate. She has wonderful house manners, and while the crate is available throughout the day, she chooses to lay on dog beds around the house instead. She will however use one if needed in her next home, as she is very easy going with your expectations of her. She is doing great at leash training, and is building confidence on the leash every day. She will need continued training on leash in her next home, but the basics have been taught so it will be very easy taking over where we left off ❤️ Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/sophie-1 It covers her vaccines, microchip/registration, treatment of double ear infections which included medication to go home, her fecal test we sent out to the lab, and the deworming she recieved based on those results, along with the exam with our vet. (Her exam went perfect and she is in great health!) It also covers the care involved in the time she has been with us, her grooming costs, and her training and we have personally done with her 💕
