Story
**Meet Kumo!**
Kumo is a sweet and reserved pup who’s looking for a patient and loving home to help her continue building confidence. This gentle girl has an adorable, calm presence at home—always seeking to be near her humans. Whether she’s lying at your feet while you work or snuggling up for a belly rub, she’s happiest when she’s by your side.
**Daily Routine:** Kumo's day starts bright and early at 6:30am with a potty break. She enjoys two meals a day—one around noon and another at 6pm—with potty breaks to follow. She winds down her evening with a final bathroom break at 11pm before snuggling in for the night. Kumo is crate-trained for sleeping, but she prefers to be left out when her humans aren’t around, as she experiences some separation anxiety. She does best with continued crate and separation anxiety training, so a home that can be patient and work with her will help her thrive.
**Manners & Training:** Kumo knows basic commands like “sit,” “down,” and “crate,” and she responds to a whistle for recall (inside the house). She hasn’t yet been on walks while waiting for vet clearance, but she’s eager to learn and should adapt well with gentle guidance. When it comes to meal times, Kumo is wonderfully polite—she’ll lay quietly nearby and never beg. Belly rubs are her ultimate reward, and she’ll happily roll over for them during training!
**Personality & Interactions:** While Kumo may start out a bit cautious with new people and dogs, she’s curious and will eventually greet them once she feels comfortable. At home, she’s content being calm and low-key, but she absolutely adores spending time close to her human, even curling up on their lap when given the chance. Kumo has met other dogs, kids, and adults and does well with them after initial introductions.
**Special Notes:** Kumo has shown signs of resource guarding, so her fosters have been careful with toys around her, but with proper training and patience, this is something that can be managed. For now, belly rubs and treats keep her happy!
**Ideal Home:** Kumo would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of human companionship and gentle training for her separation anxiety. If you’re looking for a devoted sidekick who will be your shadow and your cuddle buddy, Kumo is ready to shower you with love and loyalty.
