She was someone’s pet, but must have gotten lost and was living on the streets for a while.She recovered and gained weight… maybe a little too much weight. My mom was actually pregnant with me and my 3 siblings. I was born secretly during the night. I grew up with my brothers and my foster’s dad other rescue dog and cat.So having a home with another dog to keep me company is important.I love belly rubs. I will tap your leg and flip myself around for one. I also love crawling onto your lap and putting my head on your leg. I just love being close to my owners. I usually let my brothers go first. My name means grain buds? Cute hunh? It is a Chinese term used during Summertime.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and my pal Lixia developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and Lixia underwent surgery for his eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later.My most recent vet visit, May 12, 2024, confirmed my good health. My dental health is generally good with a pending detailed exam upcoming.I tend toward the affectionate, but can be a little clingy. I'm an obedient little boy, who will happily take cues on what you want. Now that I've been getting socialized, I have improved significantly on my housetraining skills.My friend Lixia and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Greetings. I was the picture of despair. I had a severe skin infection, malnutrition, and a persistent cough that spoke volumes of my battles. Though my eyes were clouded by cataracts, they held a silent plea for a second chance. Back at the Refuge, I was listless and too weak to interact with anyone. However, once my skin infection began to clear up and I got going on medication and nutritious food (a far cry from the pebbles and garbage I was forced to eat to stay alive in the dump), my vision improved considerably.They say I am lively & alert despite my age and I love to play with other dogs. I can be a little possessive over my toys. I even act puppy-like. One of my fav games is  “Squeaky Toy Catch”. I also love any kind of food (I'm an adventurous eater.) Dog cookies or snacks at bedtime are also a highlight of life for me. Yes, I'm a bit overweight. I've been indulged, so trimming me up a bit will help a lot. I will whine like a puppy and give those puppy eyes when I want a treat. Heeheee, heads up. How can you resist?While I have arthritis, a regime of glucosamine, chondroitin & MSM chewables, has improved my mobility.I am pretty tolerant of other dogs, though I can be pensive and grumpy due to arthritis discomfort on rainy days or when being trimmed. Maybe some additional help from a vet could ease those days. My skin is sensitive and I still need treatment for occasional flare-ups (e.g. prednisolone, ivermectin, antihistamines.) It may be that I have allergies.Being a geriatric gentleman, I do tend to sleep a lot. But, am happily active when awake. I prefer cool rooms, as I seem to overheat due to my thick coat.
