Story
Meet Vecna, a 6-year-old pup with a heart full of love and a spirit just waiting to shine! This 67 pound lovebug has been living in a bustling home with adults and a playful toddler, who proved to be too unpredictable for Vecna. He can get nervous and defensive if he gets overstimulated so a home without young children is his preference. Sometimes his nervousness gets the better of him and then he gets pretty territorial with food and toys. He'd love some help in learning he doesn't have to guard anything. He also does not like to be approached or touched while lying down and does best when he knows he has a quiet place to retreat when he needs to recharge. Vecna loves to play-wrestle and to play (and play, and play) to help him channel his big energy. He would be happy with another dog who is confident and patient to help him understand how to be his best. This devastatingly handsome boy can be a little shy but he's brimming with potential. He is super smart and quickly learns new tricks, so long as treats are involved! He'll need a home willing to help him expend his energy in healthy ways, learn and keep good boundaries, and teach him that new situations (or dogs and humans) are nothing to fear. He'll reward you with his hilarious and endearing personality. Want examples: he hops like a bunny when he's hyper and excited and loves when his humans stomp their feet to start playing with him. He will show his love with the dog-lean against you - like a hug! Use a laser pointer to get him into a comedic chase scene. He loves his scritches and if you right the right spot, he'll kick his leg out to show his gratitude. If you're seeking a sweet, energetic companion who will bring joy and adventure to your life, Vecna is ready to hop into your heart! Come meet him today and start your own adventure together! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 8, 2024, 5:36 am

Story
Meet Duke! Duke is a lovable, sweet-natured companion ready to find his forever home! This gentle boy is fully crate-trained and house-trained, making him an easy addition to any household. Duke adores children and, after a brief introduction, becomes a loyal friend who’s happiest when he’s cuddling, receiving head scratches, or quietly observing the world from a cozy window perch. Plus, he's a quiet guy who rarely barks—even when someone’s at the door. Things we’re working on: Duke can feel a bit anxious around new people, but once he warms up, he’ll be your best buddy. He’s not aggressive, just a little cautious at first! He’s learning leash manners with a gentle leader to curb his pulling. He's also working on resisting the urge to counter-surf and understanding that beds are for humans (although he’d happily join you for a snuggle if allowed). Duke’s social skills with other dogs are still a work in progress. He’s shown interest in playing with larger dogs but has a cautious tail tuck, so introductions to new canine friends need to be slow and gentle. He’s very sweet with smaller dogs right from the start. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, and well-trained companion who just needs a little help with confidence around new friends, Duke could be your perfect match!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I’m Kishi Daisy!   I am a 7 year old female, spayed Catahoula dog.  I weigh 45 pounds.  If you are not familiar with the breed, I historically was bred in Louisiana as a hunting and herding dog.  I form a quick, strong bond with my human.   My favorite thing to do is to go on leash walks with my foster mom.  I would be a great hiking and running partner.  I am a middle-aged dog, but I still have a lot of spunk and a lot of good years left.     I am house trained and kennel trained.  I live with 3 other dogs and 3 cats in my foster home.  True to my breed, I can be somewhat aloof with other dogs.  I would prefer to live in a home as an “only dog.”  I have a very strong bond with my human and prefer not to share my person with other dogs in the home.   I have a pretty strong prey drive when I am out of the house.  Watch out, Squirrel Nutkin!  But I can live fine with indoor, dog-savvy cats.  Outdoor cats are fair game.   My ideal home would be one with a consistent, regular routine with firm boundaries set by my person, and not too much noise or chaos.  I have said hello to some kids in my travels, and I am fine as long as they are respectful of me and my space.  I would do better in a home without small children.   When I am home in the house with my person, I settle quickly.  I love to snooze either near to you (I would be a great home-office assistant) or in my dog bed.  My foster mom kennels me at night and when she is not home during the day.  The kennel is not my favorite place, and I have been left out for several hours at a time without a problem.   I’d love to meet you!  I will likely give you a gentle sniff and kiss on the fingertips.  It’s my sweet way of saying hello.  If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application for adoption and my foster mom will get in touch with you:   https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2024, 7:44 pm

Story
Meet Brando- the sweetest, cutest little puppy in the world. Brando is 100% snuggles, sunshine and good times, just a little puppy looking for his forever family. We think Brando is a German Shepherd, Catahoula mix, though he is a rescue, so exact age and breed are a mystery. He’s around five months old, and still has quite a few of his puppy teeth! He weighs in just under thirty pounds right now, but he’s still growing! Watch Brando here: https://youtu.be/cQb2ondiOqY Brando is your typical puppy, all about naps, snuggles, playtime and food! He loves treats, and he takes them so gently already! Brando shows tons of signs that he’ll be a good dog when he grows up. He’s not mouthy, he’s learning his leash skills quickly, and he’s great at checking in with his humans during play time. He calms down quickly when playtime is over, and then it’s straight to snuggles. He’s confident and affectionate, and will climb up on the couch with you for some love! Brando LOVES belly rubs. With other dogs, Brando is all play! He’s super friendly with other dogs and instant BFFs with anyone that will indulge him in a game of chase. Here at the rescue, we cat tested Brando. Brando was playful, but not reactive toward our house cat Tom. See his full cat test in his YouTube video. Our behavior team believes that Brando could live in a house with kitties, so long as another dog is present to teach him proper kitty-etiquete. Brando is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. We are willing to test him with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen- just let us know. With any specific questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $825.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
How often do you see a dog that is this striking? Well don’t just stare, let me introduce you! Her name is Isa and she can come across as a bit shy but Ill tell you, it is only because she is truly holding her best material for her biggest fans. Her best material is the sweetest kisses, goofy zoomies, and a silly playfulness that looks so good on her. We can’t say for sure of course but everything about her leads us to believe she is a Catahoula Leopard dog. Estimated to be 2 years old and weighing 48 lbs, she is a full-grown mid-size dog, which from experience I will say is prime snuggle size. If you know about the breed already you can skip ahead but if not, one of my favorite facts is that Catahoulas are the state dog of Louisiana so if you are a die hard LSU fan, this girl will wear your purple and gold with true pride. Beyond that they are independent and smart and loyal through and through. Isa’s perfect home is adaptable and we could see her thriving in a house with a yard to enjoy or an apartment. She does prefer the quiet life, you might even say she identifies as a country girl with no interest in big city life. Its noisy. As for other pets, Isa doesn’t mind one way or another. An independent male dog would make a great counter-part but she is perfectly content being an only dog. As for cats, she has spent a lot of time with our house cat Tom, even laid down together!. Kids are welcome with understanding the her bit of shyness isn’t from lack of love, she is a bit like a new kid at school, help her learn her way around and be supportive, before you know it you’ll have a new best friend who is ready to show you all her cool spins and zoomies. Isa was introduced to several new dogs and did great, she was very tolerant and patient with a variety of dogs from calm to the high energy wild ones. Her shy approach isn’t as present with dogs but she does take a more aloof approach at first so a dog that is understanding or equally easy-going and aloof would be best for her. Isa is a cutie girl who is sure to bring you and everyone around you plenty of laughs and love. A girl like her won’t be available for long so if you are even slightly interested, fill out an application or send an email to kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.
