Story
Meet Iris Lou A stunning Catahoula Leopard Dog with a heart as beautiful as her spots Iris Lou is the kind of dog who gently tiptoes into your life… and then curls right up into your heart. This sweet girl is affectionate, gentle, and an absolute cuddle-bug once she feels safe. She can be a little shy at first, but give her a moment and she’ll show you her loyal, loving soul. Iris is dog-friendly and truly prefers having canine companions around. She feels most confident when she has dog friends nearby and thrives in a home where she isn’t the only four-legged heartbeat. She’s also a bit protective of her people, the good kind that watches over you with quiet devotion. One of her most endearing quirks? Her goofy, crooked smile. Iris curls one side of her lip up and shows her teeth, which might look intimidating at first glance, but it’s actually her way of saying “I trust you.” It’s a submissive, affectionate gesture and one of the many things that makes her uniquely Iris. She’s fully committed to outdoor pottying and will not use potty pads. Outside is the only acceptable bathroom in her world. She also loves carrying her stuffies outdoors… though fair warning, they rarely survive the adventure. &#239&#184&#143 Iris Lou’s story is one of quiet resilience. She was dumped on the same county road where another rescue dog, Lily, was found. For weeks, Iris hid in the brush, surviving with the help of kind people who left her food and water. Slowly, patiently, Corey earned her trust, and once she decided she was safe, she never looked back. She walked into her foster home and made herself part of the family almost instantly. Unlike many dogs with her past, Iris has no desire to wander off. When she chooses you, she chooses you. Iris Lou is looking for a loving home where she can feel secure, have doggy friends, enjoy cuddles, and flash that sweet, silly smile every day. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a survivor’s spirit, Iris Lou may be your girl. Adopt Iris Lou and give this beautiful soul the forever she’s been waiting for.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 14, 2026, 2:11 pm

Story
Lily was rescued off the streets back in 2021 and has been with us since. Lily is 5 years old and will turn 6 in December. Lily is very smart and listens to commands easily. She loves to cuddle and to go on walks. She loves her toys and especially bones. She’s sassy and has lots of personality and tolerates her baths well. Lily is also potty trained, kettle trained and knows how to use a doggy door. Lily has an anxious attachment style which is why we got Sophie (her sister pictured above) to keep her company while we are gone at work. We thought that this would help her not be as anxious and cause her to tear through furniture. It proved successful and it was a mutual benefit for both dogs at the time, but as our jobs have demanded more from us (working 10+ hours plus a 45 minute commute), we are no longer able to properly care for them as they deserve. Both dogs would need to be re-homed together as they are now a bonded pair.
