Story
Meet RiverRiver is a 6-month-old pup who we believe may be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and he is just beginning his journey with us. As we learn more about him, we will continue to update his profile with additional details about his personality and needs.River is very much a puppy—full of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world around him. He will thrive in an active home that can provide consistent training, routine, and positive outlets for his energy to help him grow into his best self.River was initially unsure when first introduced to cats, showing cautious curiosity. Once he had time to understand them, he became quite interested in play. He will do best with a dog-savvy cat in a home that can manage his playful enthusiasm and ensure the cat has safe spaces to retreat and decompress. With dogs, River benefits from slow introductions, as high-energy, overly exuberant puppies can make him nervous at first. He would do best with a medium-energy dog who can be appropriately matched during introductions and then engage in play once River is comfortable.Based on his suspected breed, Catahoula-type dogs are known for their intelligence, independence, and need for both mental and physical stimulation. They tend to do best in homes that can offer ongoing training, enrichment, and a sense of purpose.River is a young dog with lots of potential, ready for a home that will help guide him as he grows.Current Weight: 45lbsAdoption Fee: $325To apply: fcrspca.org/adopt

Story
Meet Mango, a gentle girl with a great outgoing personality. She is the true essence of a puppy, she greets you with a smile on her face and a wagging tail. She is smart and playful with a friendly demeanor that will win over your heart. She is looking for a home where she will have space to explore and run and play. She will likely grow to be a large girl as an adult, she weighs in the 27 lb range at 3 1/2 months old. Mango is a sweet natured girl, she should do fine in most any home that is ready to raise a puppy and give her the time and training so she can grow to be the best companion. She is gentle, she loves people and enjoys spending time with them. Mango spends her days exploring her play yard with her siblings and playmates, playing tug of war with toys, sticks and anything she can find that could be fun. We are unsure of the exact breed mix this beautiful girl is. We believe she will be a large sized dog as an adult in the 60+ lb range. She will come current on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. **This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.** Adoption fee is $450 which includes transport. _______________________________ Considering adoption? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/dog Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application - COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT. All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. *** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Look at this distinguished gentleman! Cooper is a 2-year-old goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He might be a little shy when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you—once he realizes you’re there to give him all the pets, he quickly blossoms into your most loyal best friend. This sweet boy just needs a moment to warm up, and then his silly, playful side shines through. Whether he’s making you laugh with his goofy antics or leaning in for affection, Cooper knows how to win hearts. He absolutely loves attention and will happily stick by your side once he feels comfortable. Cooper is also a huge fan of couch time. After some fun and play, he’s more than ready to curl up next to you, soak in the pets, and enjoy a cozy night in. He’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, making him an ideal companion for both adventures and relaxing evenings at home. If you’re looking for a dog who will form a deep bond and reward your patience with endless love (and laughs), Cooper is your guy! Cooper has such interesting features, we decided to DNA test him. View his results in his pictures! Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans.
