Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/

Story
Bella is around 2 years old and 45 lbs. She was adopted in March 2023 originally and recently returned to us. Bella lives in a home with two other dogs and a cat. She did well with everyone. Unfortunately one of the dogs that is more dominant and resource possessive has decided that she no longer wants to live with Bella so she came back to us. She's in foster care now and adjusting well. She's absolutely stunning to look at with her speckled coat and blue eyes. She's fun, energetic, and would love to find a family to call her own. Bella is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Drago is the dog most people DREAM of!! He’s about 2 years old, and we adopted him in May of 2023. He’s is the SWEETEST most happy and loving dog you will ever meet. Loves kids, dogs, strangers, horses, anything! He has thousands of dollar worth of training, and is amazing with recall, place, stay, heel, sit, down, etc. So I’m sure you’re wondering why we are rehoming this perfect angel. The answer is ultimately comes down to his energy level. Drago is HIGH energy and LOVES to hike, run, fetch, play with other dogs, people, etc. at this point in our lives, we cannot give Drago anywhere near the stimulation that he needs, and that is completely unfair to him. Drago needs an owner who can spend ample time with him everyday to stimulate him and make him happy! This could be going to the dog park, hiking, walks, runs, or anything that can get his energy out. He is crate trained, and although he doesn’t love his crate, he will sleep through the night if you don’t want him to roam.

Story
Name: Sarge  *Age: 3 years old *Current Weight: 68 lbs *Adoption fee: $375 Meet Sarge, affectionately known as Sarg-ento amongst staff and volunteers! This dynamic 3-year-old, 65 lb Catahoula/Australian Shepherd mix is one of the most exuberantly happy dogs to ever walk through SNARR’s Adoption Center! He has an infectious joy and irresistible charm that follows him wherever he goes. It’s impossible not to smile when Sarge is around!  Sarge is an active, bubbly dog with energy to burn and an adventurous spirit. He thrives outside in nature and would be an incredible companion for an active household that can be sure to set aside time to give him the attention he so deserves. Out on a walk, Sarge will walk on a loose leash and happily listen to his training commands! Sarge knows how to heel, sit, look, down, stay and wait at doorways. He also knows how to go to his Place (bed) and settle when asked! Sarge gets an A+ in training and this smart boy is a favorite amongst volunteers and trainers that frequent SNARR!  When meeting Sarge for the first time he likes to greet people with a giant leap of joy! That’s how happy he is to be in the presence of people who want to show him some attention. Even though Sarge has a brawny appearance, he adores a good cuddle! Sarge may even slide onto your lap in an effort to be even closer to you! Affectionate and super playful, Sarge is the best of both worlds; peppy with a side of cuddle!  Sarge has made some doggy friends during his time at the Adoption Center and continues to do well socializing. Sarge would do best in a home with a playful, strong female dog. A fenced-in yard would be a fantastic bonus, giving him the freedom to zoom around to his heart's content. Sarge's dream home would be one where he can continue to thrive in an active environment. In return for your love and attention, Sarge promises to be your loyal and devoted companion, ready to embark on countless adventures by your side. If you're looking for a furry friend who's as adventurous as you are, look no further than Sarge! Story
Kiara is a two year old cattle dog mix. She originally came as a puppy, but was returned because the other dog in the house started to resource guard and a trainer was not called into assist. As a result, she has developed her own resource guarding with other dogs with food, which we are working on to recondition her. She has been doing very well. She loves people, but can be leary of some men and will try and hide behind one of us. We would recommend older kids maybe 10 to 12 and up. She loves to play fetch in the yard, and loves her bones and treats. She enjoys car rides, she is house trained, crate trained, and great on leash. She tends to act like a little princess, which is what we all say to her all the time, lol. Her little face will definitely make you smile and she responds well to commands. Please give this pup a chance, she’s had a rough go of it so far and all she wants to do is please her owner and be loved and cuddled.
