Story
Maryann showed up at a good Samaritan's house. The good Samaritan brought them to our facility, and we took them in. Well, how could we resist. They were so frightened and scared but are doing much better now. They are up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped and ready to be adopted. Who could resist those faces. They are adorable and they need a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. We don't know if they are siblings or not but that they came in together. The foster that has them now says they are coming out of their shell and are very playful and full of life. They love chasing each other and playing tag. They are very curious and so affectionate. They will be great for any family to have one of them for a family member. She is in TN but the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/10/24 Look at this boy!! Meet Harley. He just started at Paws in Prison yesterday. While there, he’ll work with inmates as well as a dog trainer to learn the basics, leash walking, etc. He’ll graduate in 8 weeks with his canine good citizen certificate and then he’ll be ready to go to his new home! Who is going to be the lucky family to adopt this handsome fella? Striped like a tiger, he is. That’s because Harley has a pretty brindle coat. The stripes are most prominent on his back. Harley is a handsome puppy with lots of little kid energy and a dose of showboat to go with it. He’s very smart and quick footed. Harley needs manners. His aren’t good, but he’s not to blame. Manners are hard to come by on the end of chain in a backyard. That’s where he’s spent his whole life, which is horrible. He appears to be a mountain cur mix, and a good looking one, at that. Maybe Catahoula mix? He’s 5 months old. Give the inmate trainers a few weeks with Harley and he’s going to be a great sidekick!!! Harley is good with other dogs. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am FridaysPort Jervis, NY 5am Fridays orSouthington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any details questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Beau is a 1-year-and-4-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart as big as his 76-pound frame. This sweet boy is a bundle of joy who adores playtime, long walks, and adventurous car rides. At the end of the day, Beau is all about snuggles—he’s a true cuddlebug who will happily lounge by your side. While Beau’s loving personality shines bright, he’s still working on building his confidence. He’s looking for a patient and understanding family to help him feel secure as he grows into an even more incredible dog.
