Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.

Story
Maryann showed up at a good Samaritan's house. The good Samaritan brought them to our facility, and we took them in. Well, how could we resist. They were so frightened and scared but are doing much better now. They are up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped and ready to be adopted. Who could resist those faces. They are adorable and they need a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. We don't know if they are siblings or not but that they came in together. The foster that has them now says they are coming out of their shell and are very playful and full of life. They love chasing each other and playing tag. They are very curious and so affectionate. They will be great for any family to have one of them for a family member. She is in TN but the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Scrappy is looking for a home! Please share! Scrappy was abandoned, left in a house without food or water. Thankfully a young man took him in but then moved out, leaving Scrappy with his grandmother. She’s been taking care of him, but she didn’t sign up to have him, and isn’t in the position to keep him. He is a smart boy and learns quickly. He would like to be a lap dog! He is about 2 years old and about 60lbs. He is house trained but will mark in the house because he is not yet neutered. He is young and playful. He has some separation anxiety but that may lessen with more exercise and more playtime. He currently lives with another dog and being with the other dog seems to really help with the separation anxiety. He is a counter surfer and constantly looking for food.He needs to be taught to walk on a leash and be socialized. This dog has so much potential!! Please consider him. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/12 This boy is striking!! He started at Paws in Prison this week. While there, he’ll work with inmates as well as a dog trainer to learn the basics, leash walking, etc. He’ll graduate in 8 weeks with his canine good citizen certificate and then he’ll be ready to go to his new home! Who is going to be the lucky family to adopt this handsome fella? This is Aries who has one brown eye and one piercing blue one, which give him what’s commonly called an intense gaze. It’s like he has X-ray vision and can see through you and into the back corners of your mind. He can’t, but that blue eye does look magical! He’s a striking Catahoula mix and has the spots to prove it. Aries is house trained and enjoyed interacting with the pre school aged child in the home he was fostered in. He is very much a catahoula personality, with a need for exercise and stimulation. He can be stubborn, but he also loves big and is a lot of fun to be around. Aries is about 10 months old. We don’t have his weight yet, but a preliminary guesstimate puts his adult weight at 65 pounds. We’ll adjust that when we get more info. Aries is a people dog and gets along fine with other dogs. He’s bright, friendly and eager to make friends of all. The inmate trainers will work on his commands, manners and focus. He’s still a puppy with a short attention span. Aries needs direction, attention and love. The inmates teach him all that and more. Our prediction…Aries will be a superstar! He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative , and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He is very much a catahoula personality, with a need for exercise and stimulation. He can be stubborn, but he also loves big and is a lot of fun to be around. He is a good boy who would benefit from some training, but has the potential to be a great buddy. He would do great as an agility dog or just a hiking/running partner! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
