Story
Meet May May, a sweet and social kitty who can`t wait to find her forever home! Every morning, you’ll catch her waiting at the window, keeping an eye out for the staff and volunteers to arrive. May May dreams of having a special person of her own to greet when they come home and she`s sure to keep you company. As a true social butterfly, May May loves eating with a friend and is happiest when she can share those moments with someone. You’ll often find her perched on her favorite window shelf but she’s quick to come down and greet visitors once they pop in to say hello. We think she’d absolutely adore having a cozy cat tree or a window seat with a view in her new home.At 6 years old, May May is more relaxed and low-energy, making her the perfect companion if you’re looking for a calm, laid-back kitty who’s past the kitten phase but still full of love. May May would do best as the only pet in her home, as she wants to keep all your attention to herself. If you’re looking for some companionship, May May is ready to go to her forever home. Don`t hesitate to stop in during our open hours or by appointment to see if May May could be the one for you. Story
Fig is a sensitive soul looking for her forever family. Fig came to NAS back in November 2023 as a stray. This sweet girl is not cut out for the busy shelter environment and has thankfully found some great foster homes to temporarily call home. Since being in a foster home, Fig has shown us what kind of kitten antics she can get into now that she has settled in. Fig enjoys peeking out the windows and will sometimes just be a tail peeking out from the curtains. She loves vertical scratchers and playing with toys as well. Fig prefers to be loyal to her special people, and learns to trust with some patience and lots of churro treats. Once settled in on her foster parents’ laps, Fig purrs away and enjoys receiving attention. Due to her bashful and scared behavior with unfamiliar people, she will need a patient family and calm household who will let her warm up at her own pace. Fig is currently in a foster home. Story
Toasty is a friendly girl who loves attention, playtime, and soaking up the sun. As the official greeter in our shelter lobby, she enjoys welcoming visitors of all ages. Though she will occasionally be caught napping on the job (being this cute is exhausting!).Her favorite toy is small plastic springs! But she’d also love a wand toy partner to help her stay active. Toasty is interested in dogs and enjoys watching them playing in the yard or going by on walks from the lobby. She has done well with respectful, cat-savvy dogs, and we believe she’d be fine in a home with children. She even tolerates being picked up but will sometimes turn it into a playful game of chase!Toasty is looking for a home where she can be the only cat, as she prefers to be the queen of her castle.Health & Care• FIV+ – While this means a little extra care, it doesn’t stop her from living a happy and healthy life!• Special Diet & Joint Support– Toasty is on a prescription diet Royal Canin HP for life. She also takes a daily joint supplement for Luxating Patella in one of her hind legs. Despite this, she has no mobility challenges and benefits from regular exercise to maintain a healthy weight. Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Have you ever seen a cat with such perfectly white socks and a striped raccoon tail? Well, it`s time to meet Leona! Leona arrived at NAS as a stray, so her past is a mystery. At first, she was a bit unsure of people, but after a few good meals and some time to adjust, she has blossomed into a total love bug. Once you start petting her, she turns into a purr machine and soaks up every bit of attention. One of Leona’s favorite pastimes is curling up on a high shelf, where she can keep a watchful eye on the antics of her feline roommates. She’s also a foodie and will make sure to clear her bowl every time to show her appreciation for a good meal! Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website.
