Story
Taffy Apple will greet you at the door and purr like a motorboat when you give her attention. She's also very vocal. She's not a lap cat, but will show her affection by rubbing against your legs. Taffy Apple would do best in a quiet house without children. However, she's very much a cat's cat and would love another cat or two for company; other furry friends will help bring out her personality! Although she's shy and takes awhile to warm up to new people, she's ultimately a rewarding cat to love. Taffy Apple is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested FelV/FIV negative, and has had a dental.

Story
Sammy is a sweetheart! Extremely affectionate and docile; Sammy is a real lap kitty who also likes to be picked up! He loves to play with feathers and eat Churus and chomp on cat grass. One of his favorite things is to perch on his cat tree and check out what's happening outside. He also loves hanging with his best friend, Nelson. Sammy is not a bold cat; he's more of a sensitive soul who would prefer a quiet home, and he does like having a quiet hiding spot if he feels worried. FELINE LEUKEMIA VIRUS (FeLV) Sammy and Nelson met because each had tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and they became best friends. Having FeLV means that the immune system is compromised and the life span might be shortened if the cat is exposed to pathogens they cannot fight off. Illnesses can typically be treated, however, and FeLV+ cats can live normal lives. We recommend careful monitoring of weight, appetite, activity level, elimination habits, appearance of the mouth and eyes, and behavior as an important part of managing this disease. Because of this diagnosis, Sammy and Nelson should be the only cats in the household so that they do not catch things from other cats and the other cats aren't infected with FeLV. It is not easily transmissible through casual contact, surfaces, or clothes, or to other species of animals or humans. Due to the diagnosis, the adoption fee is discounted to $25. Sammy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV.

Story
Courtesy Listing: This is Mr. Man (Manny), he's been a stray in my neighborhood since last winter. A neighbor trapped him and we're getting him ready for a new forever home. I took him for a vet check and he tested positive for feline leukemia, so he will need to be adopted to a home with already positive cats or as a solo cat. He is neutered, vaccinated, and FIV negative. He was very scared but within days had become the biggest sweetheart ever. He follows me around the garage and talks to me while I do chores. The minute I sit down he's jumping into my lap for pets and a nap. Manny will be a wonderful addition to your family.

Story
Nelson is a beautiful tabby with bright green/aqua ringed eyes. Nelson spent years in isolation before coming to his current foster, so he is adjusting to the joy of being free to move. He LOVES his new buddy Sammy! Nelson used to hide all the time, but is coming out of his shell. Now he is typically out and about, curiously watching the bigger world outside from his perch on his cat tree, or begging for food or playtime. He is still afraid of laps and does not want to be picked up, but he loves to rub his face on a person's hand and get scratches on his head. He is a gentle boy, but he still reacts with fear to sudden movements and sometimes greets people with a warning hiss. He loves to play with feathers and wand toys and chomp on cat grass. Overall he is shy and needs a place to hide if overwhelmed, but he is getting more and more comfortable with people and he is gaining confidence from Sammy. He watches how Sammy plays with toys and interacts with people, and then tries to imitate Sammy. Sammy and Nelson have become good friends and like to snuggle and play together. Nelson is sometimes over-interested in Sammy's food, so we recommend supervising them while eating wet food. They both hate the vacuum! FELINE LEUKEMIA VIRUS (FeLV) Nelson and Sammy met because each had tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and they became best friends. Having FeLV means that the immune system is compromised and the life span might be shortened if the cat is exposed to pathogens they cannot fight off. It is not easily transmissible through casual contact, surfaces, or clothes, or to other species of animals or humans. Nelson is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV. Nelson's adoption fees have been 100% covered by a generous donor!

Story
This sweet, biscuit-making calico girl is ready to find her family! She loves to cuddle next to her humans and greet you at the door. Isabella came to 9 Lives Rescue weighing over 26 pounds. She has spent the last several months slowly losing weight and becoming the best version of her happy self. We are so proud of how far she has come! She is in very good health, and just needs humans who will keep her on her healthy diet and play with her. We believe she has always been an only cat, so we're not sure how she would integrate with another cat in the home. She would love the chance to meet you! Isabella is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Story
Batsey is a classic tortie - sassy and full of love! She's a bit shy and prefers a quiet place to hide throughout the day, but once you approach her and tell her to come out for pets she is right there purring up a storm. She will take time to warm up to a new home and would shine best in a quiet house. Batsey absolutely adores other cats, and should go to a home with another friendly cat that can match her laid-back but playful and loving personality. Although she is very sweet, Batsey is not afraid to tell you when you aren't petting her right with some gentle smacks. She can also get a little mouthy, but since she is missing both of her top canine teeth, she can't do any harm! For these reasons, Batsey needs to go to a home with no young kids, and would be best with someone experienced with sassy kitties. Batsey is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
