Story
Meet Dumpling. Once a part of one of our South Oakland colonies, Dumpling is a small tuxedo girl who couldn't cut it as an outdoor kitty. Quite skittish around loud noises (and loud humans), Dumpling very much needs a quiet home with the company of kitties who will let her cuddle them and humans who understand her strange gremlin ways. To humans who greet her with patience and love (and a treat or two in their hand), she is a lovebug who purrs up a storm (and drools out of happiness) and can't get enough cheek scratches. She also LOVES butt pets and gentle spanks, but don't tell her that we told her about her butt fetish. She also loves high perches to watch her world where she can feel safe. Dumpling seeks a rescue-savvy owner who will love her gremlin and hissy self for who she is, and give her a loving home for her to continue to bloom into a real kitty. She would do best in a home with other cats, no dogs, and no small children. Dumpling is around a year and a half, spayed, fully vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Dorothy. This classic brown tabby was rescued from a colony on the border of Bloomfield and North Oakland as a young mother. At just 7 months old, she had already had one litter of kittens. She didn't seem like a truly feral cat, so we decided to keep her inside and give her a second chance. Over the last 10 months in foster, she's come a long way. She can still be very wary of humans and jumpy to touch, but she's made so much progress that we're sure will only continue in the right home. From taking every chance she could to hide, to now greeting her foster at the door and even rubbing on their legs at dinner time. And now, if you're lucky, she will let you sneak in a pet or two at dinner time or at your feet if she's in the mood! She's an incredibly sweet cat that deserves a calm, patient, and loving home that is willing to give her the time that she needs to fully trust and feel comfortable and safe. Dorothy is a young and energetic girl and LOVES to play. She'll unleash her inner kitten on any wand toy yoy have and loves to play in her tunnel. She also loves other cats once she gets to know them. Having been a young mother, she's a bit of a matriarch and will mother any cat she meets regardless of age. She knows her boundaries and is not afraid to teach a new cat what they are with a good wack. But with a good and proper introduction, she'll be cuddling and playing the day away with her new friends and needs a home with other cats. Dorothy is about a year and a half, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Houdini. Originally trapped as a TNR case from a feral colony, he was the only one who decided he'd rather live indoors instead. He was a bit shy at first but has blossomed into the sweetest little gentleman. Houdini is a very loving guy. Because of his feral start, he can be a bit shy in a new situation but it doesn't take long before he's strutting his stuff with confidence. He has the cutest little meow and will use to ask for attention and, of course, dinner. He doesn't mind being picked up and enjoys being held and cuddled - he'll even make biscuits while you hold him! He doesn't mind other cats and would do just fine in a home with others or by himself. Houdini is about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Ruth! This snuggly lady has lived through a lot. We first rescued her in 2021 from a horrific hoarder situation. After some time to heal from her trauma, she was adopted out in 2022. Recently, Ruth fell back into our care after being abandoned. This loving, easy-going girl is desperately seeking a home that can commit to being her forever! Ruth is endlessly affectionate, often vocalizing how happy she is to see you and ready to come give you a hug (yes, she gives full hugs and kisses!) She loves taking a good catnap but is also very active. She adores catnip toys, springs, and balls, and will gladly play by herself. But above all, human companionship is what Ruth wants the most. Nothing makes her happier than getting to climb up onto someone for snuggles. After all she's been through, Ruth is seeking a pet-free home to enjoy all to herself, but is wonderful with kids. Ruth is 10 years old, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Jethro. We're fairly certain that if you looked up "majestic in the dictionary, you'd find a photo of this handsome man. Buckle up, because his story is both long and unbelievable. In August of 2022, we received a call from Animal Control about a tomcat in Central Oakland who had been hit by a car and lost mobility in his back legs. We got him to the vet where we discovered he had a fractured hip that had already healed. He managed to survive and find food through insurmountable pain long enough for his pelvis to fully heal, displaced. At the time he was incredibly feral, so he had a few months to regain mobility and was released back to his home in Oakland. Fast forward to March 2023 when we were alerted to a hoarding situation in South Oakland after the homeowner was evicted. Unbeknownst to us one of the 11 cats we rescued from the deplorable home was none other than Jethro! This time around he was somewhat friendly and after all he'd been through, we knew he deserved the chance to be rescued for good. Now, a year later he is finally ready to find his forever home! At his most recent vet checkup, we learned that Jethro is partially blind. It appears that from a far distance, he can track some objects. However, at a close distance, he seems to not be able to see at all. This explains why he took so long to trust humans and why he can be a bit wary at first, even with folks he knows. Upon approach, he will hiss, but as soon as you make contact and start giving him love, he'll flop to the ground for immediate belly rubs. He's a shy but insanely sweet boy looking for a calm, quiet home with an understanding owner. Jethro adores other cats and finds most of his confidence in others, so he must go to a home with other cats! Jethro is about 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Katie! Katie is a dilute calico with beautiful green eyes and is an independent, loving, and playful girl who loves pets but is just as content alone. She is quiet and rarely meows, but she greet you with the smallest meow when you come home. While it will take some time for Katie to warm up to you, once she does she will rubbing up against you, giving you head bumps, curling her tail around your legs and giving you love bites, all while soaking up the pets. She likes head and butt pets and will purr and purr for you. Katie is a good huntress and loves whack a mole type of play and chasing ribbon, feather or worm teasers. She loves Temptation treats also has very clean litter box habitats. Katie was rescued from a lifetime outside and while we don't know her exact story, we expect she was being cared for as an outside cat, but was allowed inside occasionally and the person moved away. Katie is friendly but shy and is not used to the comforts of the indoors, she prefers the floor to a blanket or bed (but she is starting to enjoy a nice fluffy blanket and even the bed on occasion). She was leery of things like laptops, music and the telephone at first and still doesn't like lots of noise and activity around her, because of this, she would do best in a quieter home with little commotion. After all that time outside, it's no surprise she is reserved and scared sometimes, but she will come out of her shell with some gentle words, head pets, treats and time. While she does get along with other cats, Katie would do well as an only cat as well. Whatever her past, she is still an affectionate, spunky girl with a little bit of sass and is on her way to a better, safer life indoors! Katie is around 6 years old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.
