Story
Meet Rex – A Resilient Sweetheart with Extra Toes and Extra Love to Give Rex is a 6–7-year-old shorthaired gray kitty with striking green eyes, a round, expressive face, and a heart full of love. He’s been through a lot — FIP survivor, FIV positive, and polydactyl (extra toes!) — but you’d never know it from his laid-back, gentle personality. Rex is shy at first and may greet new people with his signature “airplane ears”, but once he’s comfortable, he enjoys being brushed and will gladly accept attention. He’s fantastic with other cats, dogs, and respectful kids, making him a great addition to a calm, loving home. He has a few tiny patches of missing fur around his shoulders from past FIP treatments — a small reminder of how strong and special he is. He also had one toe declawed after arriving in rescue, where a misgrown nail was causing discomfort. Now he’s healed and feeling great — and his extra toes make his little feet even more charming. Rex is FIV positive, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit! FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not easily transmitted — it’s spread mainly through deep bite wounds, so FIV+ cats can live safely and peacefully with non-FIV cats, especially in a stable, friendly household. FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy lives with regular vet care and a good diet — just like any other cat. Rex is a chill, affectionate guy who just wants a cozy place to call home. After everything he’s overcome, he deserves nothing less than a lifetime of love and comfort. Adoption application can be found here-https://airtable.com/shrGSvgMTS3wUQn2H

Story
Meet Sparky – A Shy Guy with a Playful Heart Sparky is a 5–6-year-old shorthaired orange tabby with a gentle soul and a playful streak. Rescued from a hoarding situation, this handsome boy is still learning to trust — but with a little patience, you’ll get to see his true personality shine. At first, Sparky can be shy and reserved. He’ll need time and a calm environment to feel safe. But once you’ve earned his trust, he loves being brushed, goes wild for feather wand toys, and will even take treats right from your hand. Sparky gets along wonderfully with other cats and dogs, and would do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand how to give him space as he adjusts. He would thrive in a home that values patience, playtime, and soft, quiet companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who just needs a little time to come out of his shell, Sparky may be your perfect match. My curious nature keeps me exploring every nook and cranny, turning every day into a new adventure. I'm friendly to everyone I meet, ready to make new friends at the drop of a hat. My gentleness will melt your heart, and my cuddly nature will make every day feel cozy. Oh, how I love to be petted! It's the simple things in life that make me purr with joy. I promise to bring warmth and happiness into your life, making every day brighter. Why should you adopt me? Because I will love you unconditionally, be your loyal companion, and fill your home with joy and laughter. With me, every day will be an adventure filled with love and companionship. To adopt me please fill out the online application at: https://cocoakitties.org/adoption-application Cocoa Kitties rescues cats off the streets of Hershey and surrounding towns. We are a 501(c)(3) organization that is funded 100% by donations. We do not operate a shelter but keep our kitties in foster homes. We rely on foster families who open their homes to care for the kitties we rescue. We ask that you complete an application before we send you into the homes of our volunteers. Also please keep in mind that applications are always being processed so we cannot guarantee the availability of a kitty until your application is approved. We operate on a first approved basis. We work very hard to process applications in a timely manner but rely on your references, veterinarian, and landlord to respond so please let them know we will be contacting them. ~You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt. ~Your current pets need to be up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and they need to be altered. ~ If you are adopting a kitten and have no other pets at home please consider adopting two. Kittens thrive in pairs. Kittens: $125 Cats: $100 Before they go home our kitties are: · Vaccinated age appropriately (Rabies and FVRCP) · Treated for internal and external parasites* · Tested for FELV/FIV · Microchipped · Spayed/Neutered (for kittens that is around 12 weeks of age) · Started on flea prevention *Parasites are common in kittens and cats and may take time to treat completely. We cannot guarantee that your cat or kitten will be completely worm/parasite free at adoption. We do not declaw our kitties and do not allow adopters to declaw them. We require our kitties to live indoor lives. Lifetime Commitment: Please remember a kitty requires a 100% committed family for the kitty's entire lifetime which is some cases can be more than 20 years. Talk this through completely with your family and make sure everyone is onboard before completing this application.

Story
“Q” is ready to butt wiggle and POUNCE into your heart! This one-year old bundle of energy traded chasing leaves in high trafficked streets for wand toys and fluffy beds where he can make some biscuits before bedtime. “Q” is a busy little boy - he has a PACKED agenda, between delivering the biscuits he made overnight in the form of nose boops to all of the humans, to chasing ping pong balls down the corridor, to jumping high into the air for feather wand toys, nestling into you and your fuzzy couch blanket for midmorning snuggles, to destroying scratching boards in the late afternoon like they are his mortal enemy. If he’s lying on/by you, you better be giving him chin or head scratchies or serving up some churus (aka paying the rent), or he will leave you without concern for your broken heart. He LOVES scratchies with long nails and/or with a flea comb. “Q” has the cutest little chirp when he is looking for you, when he’s trying to get your attention, or when he is trying to find some cat friends. He wants to play with other cats SO badly, but he still needs to work on some of his social skills. He is finally learning that his current methods of just bopping a cat on the head and running away or chasing after them is NOT the vibe. “Q” would do best in a home with humans and older children who have had cats or know cat/kitten antics because he can be a bit of a butthead sometimes. As long as you’re familiar with cat body language and occasional shenanigans, and won’t be alarmed by his random sneak attacks (all play, no violence), “Q” would LOVE for you to welcome him into your home. Oh, and “Q” has the cutest blep face that he rocks frequently. But I dare you to try and take a picture of it — it’s like he KNOWS you’re trying to snap a picture of it and *slurp* it disappears!!    Age: 1 year How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A179814 &#226&#128&#139I am not at the shelter.
