Spayed or Neutered,
Story
These three ladies were trapped as part of a TNR project after their owner became ill, lost her home, and they ended up outside with a Lansdowne colony. The sisters were social and clearly not meant for outdoor life, so they were brought into foster together. They were previously spayed, had their shots updated, and they tested negative. They will be microchipped. If you guessed Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy (left to right), you are correct! They absolutely have the personalities of their TV namesakes, as you can see. Blanche and Rose immediately took over their foster home, exploring and enjoying window time together. Dorothy wasn’t so sure and elected to stay in her crate till she was darned good and ready to venture out and join the others. She has come very far in just a few short weeks and is as friendly as can be these days. After all they’ve been through losing their owner and their home, it would be a dream if these playful besties could stay together and become someone’s instant feline family, but other scenarios are possible. Put on your best caftan, grab some cheesecake, and meet The Golden Girls! Applications being accepted.   To learn more about Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Introducing the very lovely Kara. Her story is a sad one. Born in 2008, Kara had kittens who were adopted out, and Kara was spayed and adopted by a kind gentleman with several cats. Kara was well cared for, but one cat bullied her and made her timid. Her owner became ill and passed away in 2018. Kara was then adopted by another kind gentleman and friend of the rescue, who passed away very suddenly in June 2022. Kara is as sweet as sweet can be, but she needs some work and commitment from a special adopter to help rebuild her confidence. You need to seek her out, then she will thoroughly enjoy affection and will reward you with very loud purrs. Kara has been updated on all her vet care and is a very healthy senior kitty. She truly needs for her next home to be her last. A calm and loving home, ideally with no other pets (though she will adjust to kind ones), would complete Kara’s wish list. A senior human in need of a gentle companion would be just perfect. If Kara’s story stirs your heart, you just might be her person. Please apply today.   To learn more about Kara and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Hobbes is the most typical of cats- born in Aug 2022 this boy was discovered in March 2023 as a new addition to a feeder's community cat colony. We were able to trap him  before he befell the fate of many outdoor cats- becoming feral. After being fixed he realized that the inside life was a pretty good one. He can best be described as happy-go-lucky. Hobbes prances around, perches on window sills, and enjoys wrestling with his fellow foster cats. On the whole he is a very sweet and gentle boy who never shows his claws and is ready to be your new addition!   Due to his later introduction to inside life Hobbes will need a bit of patience from his new parent- he is a little shy with new people or animals and will require a slow introduction to any gentle children or pets in your home. He does not like to be picked up or held.  He has tested negative, is neutered and microchipped, and is up to date on all shots and vet care. Applications are accepted now for this adorable boy, so don’t delay! Story
Carleton has one of those soulful feline faces that makes him look almost human—kind of like a person in a cat suit! This special guy was born in March of 2018 and is a calm, gentle cat who really likes being close to his people, but not right in their laps. He has long, lanky legs that mean he will do best with a large, high-sided litter box to keep things tidy, but he does have very good manners in that department. He was found in August 2023 in very poor condition, at the edge of starvation, and he has recovered beautifully with lots of TLC and expert vet care. Carleton is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. He would enjoy a quieter home, though he would not mind school-age children. He does enjoy playing with a good wand toy! He is currently living with other cats but doesn't prefer to engage with them. Carleton may be able to live contentedly with another quiet cat like himself. Due to his recent past, he is currently on sensitive stomach dry food for digestion. Special food may not be required forever, but for now it helps him to live his best life. He also adores all types of wet food. Take a good, long look at that face, and then apply to bring this sweet boy into your home and your life today! Story
Meet Duffy, courtesy posted by Animal Friends of Lansdowne. This fluffy boy was found in Yeadon in summer of 2021 and has been in foster care ever since. He is very playful and loves to be pet on his own terms. While he is currently in a home with many cats and dogs he would do much better as an only cat. Duffy would be best suited for a home without small children due to his unpredictable moods. He was born sometime around fall of 2020, is neutered, tested negative, and microchipped. Story
Harper was born around 2015 and was rescued in very poor condition in May of 2023. It was thought that she was swollen due to pregnancy; turns out she was so ill from extreme starvation after being abandoned outside, her illness had made her look that way! The vets gave this sweet kitty just a small chance of survival, but she had suffered enough, wanted and deserved a chance at a pain-free life of real love. With months of expert medical care, TLC and specialized feeding, you can see how she looks today. Not only has she survived, she has recovered and is a lovely, mature cat who is now ready for just the right forever home to call her very own. Harper is spayed, tested negative, up to date on her shots and vet care. Her bloodwork is now excellent, and her muscles are rebuilding nicely. She is currently being fostered in a confined area; she will do even better in a real home to explore and share with her new family. She has great litter box manners, enjoys her cardboard scratching pad and wand toy, and she likes to curl up to sleep with her foster mom. Harper just craves human attention. After all she’s been through, she does not enjoy vet visits and needs a little pharmaceutical help to deal with them. She tends to get underfoot, so may not be the best pet for someone with mobility issues, but she is a cuddler who wants and deserves her very own special person to love on. If you might be that person, Harper promises to reward you with tons of affection and unconditional love!
