Story
Theo is such a sweet boy and is a huge cuddler. It breaks my heart to part with him but he does have some slight anxiety that started when I moved in with my husband, his son and his cat. Between that and now moving and having a baby in the past year there’s been a lot of change he hasn’t been happy and needs a place a little calmer. He’s fine with kids as long as they’re not too fast or loud so would do better with older children. Not a huge fan of dogs but hasn’t been around any often enough to adjust to one. Mostly fine with other cats, I believe it’s the stress of the environment that’s giving him most of the issues with our other cat.

Story
Say a big welcome to Wonder! Wonder came to Animal Friends through our Humane Investigations Department. Wonder can a be a little shy so he has been spending time in a foster home where his true personality is starting to show more and more every day. Wonder's foster reports that he is now becoming very playful and often gets the zoomies when playing with his favorite toys. Wonder has also begun soliciting and enjoying attention more, which is a huge improvement! He also enjoys feeding time where he's learned to become very vocal, making sure his presence is known! Wonder needs a calm, adult only home where he would be the only pet in the household. Wonder will need some extra time and patience so that he can adjust at his own pace. Can you imagine how WONDERFUL your life would be with him a part of it? Wonder is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They've certainly been extra loved here! If you have room in your heart and your home to give one of our special animals, check with our Adoption team to learn about our Extra Loved program and if there is any additional support we may be able to offer alongside your adoption! Fill out an application --> ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped!

Story
Meet Rutabaga! This handsome 1 year old guy came to Animal Friends from our Humane Investigations Team for having too many cats within the home. Since being here at AF we noticed him wobbling everywhere he walked so after some testing our medical team diagnosed Rutabaga with Myotonia Congenita - which is a hereditary neuromuscular disorder characterized by persistent contraction, particularly during muscle movement. Because of this Rutabaga is looking for a home where they will be able to monitor him and give him the assistance he needs with using a litterbox, eating/drinking, and day to day activities. His diagnosis however has not stopped him from being an absolute sweetheart who loves people and could potentially live with other cats. If you're interested in taking Rutabaga home as a Hospice Adoption, please reach out to us as the Adoption Department to learn what steps to take! This animal currently resides in one of our amazing foster homes, so we would love to schedule an appointment for you to meet them at a time when our dedicated foster parent can bring them in. Rutabaga's foster mom says he is an absolute delight, and is a very friendly and playful guy. He is currently living with one of our other wobbly veggie cats, Fennel, and while he does not have to go home with Fennel, they are welcome to be adopted together. Rutabaga is also one of Yana's Special Felines which means his requested adoption donation has been underwritten and he will be sent home with an individualized starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs. Fill out an application -> Thinkingoutsidethecage.org All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption.

Story
Meet Devon, this lovable big boy came to Animal Friends after his previous owner unfortunately was no longer able to care for him. Devon is currently 9 and a half years old and 20lbs, showing that he was extremely well-loved. He's still adjusting to the shelter life since it is all very new to him, but he's already making a huge name for himself as being incredibly affectionate and energetic. Devon has been diagnosed as FIV positive but he is not phased by this and is a huge advocate on why adopting an FIV+ cats is important. Although he's approaching his senior years, Devon is full of energy and ready to show you just how amazing he is! If you have any questions about Devon or about managing FIV in cats, please contact our Adoption Department and we would be happy to go over all of this information and more! Fill out an application ->ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped!
