Story
Luna is three years old and is attached to her mom and her older kitty brother. Since her brother is no longer with us she has started to not get along with her kitty sister and is not happy about splitting mom time either. She would do best in a home where she is the only cat. Luna enjoys watching mom work, and helping with papers and craft projects. She enjoys playing with toys and taking long afternoon naps and chattering at the birds outside but does not have any desire to go outside. Luna has two dog sisters and she doesn’t mind them but she doesn’t engage them either. She likes cuddling on her terms.

Story
Maya loves her feline friends. She is an avid birdwatcher whether on Cat TV or through the window. Maya would do best in a quiet home without dogs or children. All Maya asks is a safe place to live and an understanding person who will go slow and get to know her on her terms. Maya just wants a chance. Her foster works so many hours and isn't able to give Maya the 1 on 1 time she desperately needs. Life as a shop cat or potentially life in a horse barn would also work for Maya since she is a great mouser.

Story
Josie was a rescue I took in 8 years ago. She’s approximately 9 years old. She’s great with other cats and likes to play. She enjoys human attention and will be where the action is if she’s not sleeping. She’s been an indoor cat but definitely likes being outside. Looking for a home that would give her the attention she needs.

Story
Say a big welcome to Wonder! Wonder came to Animal Friends through our Humane Investigations Department. Wonder can a be a little shy so he has been spending time in a foster home where his true personality is starting to show more and more every day. Wonder's foster reports that he is now becoming very playful and often gets the zoomies when playing with his favorite toys. Wonder has also begun soliciting and enjoying attention more, which is a huge improvement! He also enjoys feeding time where he's learned to become very vocal, making sure his presence is known! Wonder needs a calm, adult only home where he would be the only pet in the household. Wonder will need some extra time and patience so that he can adjust at his own pace. Can you imagine how WONDERFUL your life would be with him a part of it? Wonder is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They've certainly been extra loved here! If you have room in your heart and your home to give one of our special animals, check with our Adoption team to learn about our Extra Loved program and if there is any additional support we may be able to offer alongside your adoption! Fill out an application --> ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped!

Story
Meet Rutabaga! This handsome 1 year old guy came to Animal Friends from our Humane Investigations Team for having too many cats within the home. Since being here at AF we noticed him wobbling everywhere he walked so after some testing our medical team diagnosed Rutabaga with Myotonia Congenita - which is a hereditary neuromuscular disorder characterized by persistent contraction, particularly during muscle movement. Because of this Rutabaga is looking for a home where they will be able to monitor him and give him the assistance he needs with using a litterbox, eating/drinking, and day to day activities. His diagnosis however has not stopped him from being an absolute sweetheart who loves people and could potentially live with other cats. If you're interested in taking Rutabaga home as a Hospice Adoption, please reach out to us as the Adoption Department to learn what steps to take! Rutabaga's foster mom says he is an absolute delight, and is a very friendly and playful guy. He is currently living with one of our other wobbly veggie cats, Fennel, and while he does not have to go home with Fennel, they are welcome to be adopted together. Rutabaga is also one of Yana's "Special" Felines which means his requested adoption donation has been underwritten and he will be sent home with an individualized starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs. Rutabaga is also one of Animal Friend's VIPs! Our VIP Adoption Special was recently created as a means to spotlight some of our residents that have spent longer than average times in the shelter due to their more unique needs. With the VIP Adoption Special we hope to provide as much communication and education about each individual VIP resident and their unique needs as possible, as well as additional resources where needed upon their eventual adoption. Thanks to Charlotte, Dave, and rescue dog Cooper Stephenson, the adoption donation has also been fully underwritten for these VIP residents. Interested in learning more? Ask our Adoption team about eh VIP Adoption Special and learn more about these wonderful residents! Fill out an application -> Thinkingoutsidethecage.org All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption.
