Yoko came into the shelter as a mom of 2 kittens, and was absolutelypissed off about it, because this sassy and silly lady wants to be the baby herself!! Since her babies were adopted, Yoko has been able to relax and enjoy her life so much more, even in the shelter environment. She can be fickle with people and will go from nuzzling against you for pets and affection one moment, to taking a swat at you the next. This reactivity is a newer behavior for Yoko, and we believe it is the ongoing stress of being in the shelter for months that is causing her to be so overstimulated. Yoko would do well in a calm and attentive home that can respect her boundaries while still offering her love and kindness she deserves!

Handsome 11 year old Aspen came into our shelter when his longtime owner passed away. Aspen entered with 4 other cats, who have all had a hard time adjusting to a shelter environment after spending over a decade in a loving and caring home. Aspen has been sharing a cage with his brother Cedar, and takes a lot of comfort in him. While the boys may do better with humans if split up, they have already been through so much together and we would hate to separate them at the shelter. In a home, we believe they would be able to relax and decompress whether that be together or separate!

Begonia came to us as a 5 week old kitten, found all by herself in an empty lot. After lots of good food and lots of love, she soon blossomed into a very energetic and lively, sweet little girl. Her good nature endeared her to all the volunteers that came to visit, however, she saw playmate after playmate be adopted, leaving her behind. She's a gorgeous spotted tabby with a great personality so why no takers? We don't have any idea!!!! She's been waiting a long time for a home of her very own. Begonia is a social cat who gets along very well with other cats, allows herself to be picked up and carried around, LOVES to play and cuddle. She's no shrinking violet, she's a secure, confident girl who greets everyone who comes to visit. Begonia is still in foster care in New City. Betty Sue was surrendered with an older daughter kitten and two new kittens. She was being fed, however the homeowners were not interested in caring for her because she kept having kittens. Betty was an excellent, caring mom, they've been adopted, now it's her turn to find her forever home. Betty Sue is still in foster care with her daughter Bobbi Jo. They're pretty close, however can be adopted separately. Betty Sue is sweet, a "certified" couch potato! She very much enjoys gentle handling, being brushed and petted.
