Story
Birthdate:  03/28/2017Breed: One of a kindHey sista', go sista', soul sista', go sista' - our showstopping Lady MARMALADE is beyond gorgeous!  Coming from the same multicat home as both Slick and Ms. Garfield, it makes us sad that she's likely never had the spotlight all to herself.  Still finding her confidence here,  she is super responsive and receptive to touch and gentle petting.  She adores a proper brushing and (after all) this beauty takes pride in her soft, silky coat and those gentle jade eyes keep asking for more.  We can't wait for someone to make her feel as special as she really is.  A wonderful companion, this regal girl just wants to belong to you!    The rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://www.pawscrossedny.org/cat-adoption-questionnaire.If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. April 4, 2025, 1:31 am

Story
Birthdate:  03/28/2018Breed: One of a kindIf there isn't a support group for those of us addicted to seriously handsome orange tabbys, someone needs to get on it!  In the meantime, spend some time with SLICK!  If you've already said (in your head) "Slick Rick", you're not alone.  His deep orange stripes against a pair of emerald eyes will send you to your happy orange place, but it's his gentle, vulnerable nature that makes us want him even more.  Coming from a home with just short of a dozen other cats, he'll be an easy fit with other social felines and we love seeing him allowing us into his circle of trust.  If he has any "shortcomings'" it would be a tail that's adorably short.  So, La di da di - we like to pawty - but Slick hits every beat of our hearts.   The rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://www.pawscrossedny.org/cat-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. Story
We adopted Pickles and Reuben in August 2023. They were about 2 months old and living in a scary cat house. We took them both. It was great for a while. We had a death in our household after which Pickles became skittish and developed litter box problems.;ve assessed that delicious, warm, friendly Reuben was too strong a personality for little Pickles his problems resolve when separated. So, we cannot keep them both, and we cannot pass Pickles along with his toileting problems. Reuben is a large 15-lb lovey. He likes attention, loves to lie all over you, is a perfect gentleman when it comes to his box, yet he’s quite independent. He does need a lot of food (turns out we were under feeding him which made him agitated. He needs 300 k/cals per day) A large home would be best for his size and energy, and he’;d also love someone around to snuggle with. He’s been an indoor cat We have left them with drop in sitters and they’vebeen fine.
