Story

My husband and I came across Percy almost three years ago when she would come into our back yard. We started to feed her and Percy has always seen us a reliable source for shelter and food while living outdoors. We knew she probably spent most of her life outdoors and wanted to respect her space. In March of 2023 she had a kitten and felt safe enough to have her kitten by our home and we took them both in. She has responded well to patience, space, and love as she adjusted to our home. We have three other kitties whom she gets along with. Percy is still working on trusting people and would do better adjusting to a new home than in a shelter. She is almost 3 years old and has parts of her that is self-reliant, a survivor, playful, guarded, cautious, and snuggly. Because my husband and I are military, we can only have two kitties knowing we travel a lot. We hope to find a new family that will provide her with love, patience while she adjusts, playtime, treats, and consistency.

Gertie is a lovely approximately 5yr old spayed female. Gertie is a special needs kitty because she has skin allergies. She is currently on an every other day medication (easy to give, not expensive) and a limited ingredient diet (she can’t have poultry, for example). Gertie is sweet and playful. She likes looking out the window and loves napping on a pillow. She was part of a feral colony, but was an outsider in the colony. She asked for help and we answered. She has enjoyed becoming a house pet and is curious about other cats. We believe with a slow introduction she would be ok with other cats. It is kitten season and it’s hard to find home for adults, much less one with special needs. Please spread the word about Gertie! Verde is an adorable little ball of fluff with a BIG personality. She and her littermates are brand new to the shelter so they are still getting used to the people, noises, and smells. Lucy hasn't quite warmed up to the staff just yet and will definitely let you know when you invade her personal space. Salsa is a timid boy with a unique personality. He and his littermates are brand new to the shelter so they are still getting used to the people, noises, and smells. Salsa seems to be warming up well though. He doesn't mind being pet and will even purr, but the trick is that he was to be borderline asleep for that to happen. That being said, as a kitten, he will quickly adapt to new environments and we are very sure that he will be a loving kitten soon!Adoption Hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5pm.
