Story
Meet Onyx Onyx is a sleek, beautiful house panther with the cutest anime eyes. She's one of what we call our Special Cats for Special People, because she is a little shy and needs an understanding home that will give her time to warm up. She came from a feral colony where the caretaker died, and was rescued just a little outside the ideal socialization window. She doesn't like other cats too much (but will tolerate them), and it is our belief that she will really blossom in a home with no or just one other cat, where she can get more one-on-one attention to develop her social skills. She loves being petted, but can become overstimulated, so an ideal adopter is someone that knows how to observe a cat's body language and cut petting sessions short before she rewards you with a swat for your attentions. Her "ok to pet" window has grown increasingly longer over time, so again, we believe that with patience the right person will win her completely over. She wants to be loved, she just gets overwhelmed by it. Her fur is the softest, so you will be well rewarded for your efforts. Contact us for more information! *********************************************************************************************** Unless noted to be ok as a single cat, it is a solid requirement to either have another kitten/cat in the home or adopt two kittens, preferably littermates, together. Adoption fees Why we have them: Most of our kittens come from a rough start in life and we invest a great deal of time, energy, physical effort, resources, and money getting them healthy and ready for a forever home. Our baseline investment per kitten/cat when they are totally healthy averages $150, though that can easily increase, depending upon health/medical issues, into hundreds or dollars. [We operate on donations; adoption fees help only to offset the cost of vet care. Everyone with Kudzu Cat Alliance is a volunteer.] What they are: Single adoptions (only if there is another kitten/cat already in the home, unless otherwise specified) -- kittens 12 months and under are $125; cats, over 12 months, are $100; Pair adoptions -- kittens 12 months and under are $200; cats, over 12 months, are $150. Donations: If you want to help us continue saving these often overlooked lives we welcome and very greatly appreciate donations -- one time donations, regularly recurring donations, or donations in addition to adoption fees, and even sponsorship of kitten/cat care or adoption fees. Story
Meet Athena Athena started life dodging cars and hiding in the drainage pipes under the parking lot of an apartment complex, until she and her two sisters were trapped and sent to foster. Mom was too wild to adopt, but we made sure she was spayed so there would be no more kittens. The scary circumstances that Athena began life in caused her to be a more cautious cat, and she takes time to warm up to new situations and people. She is hoping to find an indoor home where she can feel safe and loved, with someone patient enough to help her blossom. Athena very much enjoys the company of other cats and wants to have have a friend in her new home. She and her sister Hera would love to stay together, and Hera promises that she is affectionate enough for both of them. Story
Meet Avery Avery will melt your heart with her beautiful green eyes and tail that shakes with joy when she sees you. She loves head kisses and socializing when she’s not busy playing with toys. She loves many kinds of toys but a ping pong ball is her absolute favorite to chase around. She knows how to self entertain, but she would love a young playful companion, she is ready for a buddy to play with! Avery appeared in the country out of the blue and one of our kind volunteers befriended her at the family property. She adapted to indoor life in no time and hasn’t looked back! She is a very confident, social girl that has been around harmoniously with other cats. She doesn’t like to be picked up as of yet (some cats just don’t), but she loves affection of hugs and kisses. Loves loves loves kisses on the head. She still has kitten energy at approx 8 months old and we will want her adopter to have plenty of toys for entertainment, time to play with her and have a sibling to wrestle with. Avery is mostly grey and white tabby, but has hints of cream along her chest and front legs. Such a beautiful girl! If you think you are the purrfect FORVER family for Avery, apply today!
