Ginger and Momo are a bonded pair of kitties who are looking for a special home together. This pair came to us from a home with an excessive number of cats that were not socialized properly when they were young. Ginger was heavily pregnant when she was rescued and she and Momo did a great job raising their kittens. This pair has since been spayed/neutered and now it's their turn to find a loving home. They have both come a very long way socially since they first came to us, but they still have a long way to go. Ginger and Momo are both shy kitties who are specifically looking for a home that is experienced working with under-socialized cats. They also need a home where there is already an existing cat (or cats) to help them acclimate to a new environment. This pair arrived in our care in March 2021 and it took them until August to start coming out of their shells. They spent most of their time hiding and avoiding contact with humans. They are now both interactive, chatty, and social in the sense of wanting to be able to see what's going on in the house and not hiding any more, but neither cat is comfortable being touched. Momo will allow handling if he doesn't have the option to run away, but Ginger is still feisty if you try to handle her. We cannot guarantee that either of these kitties will ever be excited about being touched or handled, but we expect that they will become comfortable members of their new family. They really need someone who is willing to give them the home that they deserve to blossom in their own time. These two are great with other cats and will do best in a home with existing cats. The other cats in their foster home really helped them come out of their shells and assisted with their socializing. They are also eating Royal Canin Calm Diet and get Purina Calming Care supplement to help them feel more comfortable while they continue with socialization. Neither cat is very playful so a home with older, more quiet cats might be better than a house full of energy. This pair is not at all comfortable with dogs. In their previous home the only experience that they had with dogs was negative so they are terrified of K9s. They need an adult-only home. Valka and her kittens, Tuffnut (aka Tuffy), and Toothless (aka Toofy) are a really special trio of cats and we're looking for the perfect home for them. Valka spent most of her short life living on her own, fending for herself as a stray. This past summer she had 3 kittens and when they were quite young they became ill and one of the kittens sadly passed away. We were able to catch the family shortly thereafter and have nursed them back to health. This family is so bonded to one another that we would really love to see them stay together long-term. Toofy & Tuffy were born as feral kittens and have come a very long way since then, but they need to find just the right home to help them thrive and continue on with their socialization. Valka is a domestic cat but she obviously has significant trauma from the experiences that she's had and it takes her a really long time to learn how to trust new people. It will take a very special person to give this trio the right home, but if you are an experienced cat-caregiver and are comfortable working with under-socialized cats, we'd love to hear from you. Toofy is the black & white kitten and he was the more curious and forward of the two brothers at first. He may be the smaller of the two, but Toofy was the first one to be brave enough to accept attention and handling from his foster mom. The key to this boy's heart is through food, but he can be a bit pushy for his food too so you have to find a balance. If he knows that you have food for him he gets grabby. Once Toofy trusts you, he is sweet and follows you around asking for attention. He has a wonderful purr and is a real gentleman. Tuffy (orange) is the more dominant of the two kittens once he's settled in, but he started out much less brave than his brother and it took a long time for his confidence to build. When he first arrived he would hiss, spit, and strike at his foster mom (out of fear) if she got too close. She spent a long time building his trust and Tuffy is actually quite pushy now and barges his way to the front of the line to get attention. He is now the more forward and friendly of the two kittens and really just craves attention. Like his brother, he does sometimes give love-nips when he gets over-stimulated during a cuddle session. Tuffy will purr, and rub, and roll around to get attention but every few pets he gets a bit over-stimulated and he will nip at his foster mom. She will take a very brief time out from petting him and then go right back to it until Tuffy starts to get over-stimulated again. He is learning quickly and does understand the word 'no' but it's important for his new owner to have a good handle on how to read Tuffy's body language and have experience working with under-socialized cats. These two boys are food motivated, which makes them a bit easier to work with. If you are looking for a single cat to be your one and only, Autumn is your gal. This young calico beauty is a great little cat who is very social and easy to get along with. She is almost the perfect cat, but she does have two pretty specific needs when it comes to her new home: Autumn does not like other animals, so she needs to be the only pet in the home, and she really does not like to be stuck indoors all the time. She needs access to a safe, outdoor area, or preferably a catio. Autumn first came to us from another rescue after being abandoned in a field with her kittens. She was thin and dirty, but had done a good job of caring for her babies. They have since been adopted, and now that Autumn has been spayed, it's her time to shine. The vet has estimated her at 3 years old. Autumn's foster family says that she is curious, independent, and gentle. She is very social and curious with new people too; she's always looking to say hi and get some pets! She purrs a lot, and seems very content with life. Autumn is low energy but will play with toys when she's in the mood. She's very respectful of the home; she doesn't knock things over, jump on counters or scratch furniture. She would be great for a family that has a human(s) around lots of the day. Despite enjoying spending time inside with her humans, Autumn loves to spend time outside. She doesn't ask for much and doesn't try to escape out the doors or windows, but she longingly spends all day staring outside when she's being kept in. Her current foster home has a catio and she loves spending time outside. Autumn would be really happy with a safe, outdoor area that she can spend some time in, or perhaps a catio so that she can enjoy nature. During her time with us, we have discovered that Autumn does not like other animals. She dislikes other cats, and is terrified of dogs! Most of the time Autumn is a great, easy going cat, but when her foster's neighbour was pet-sitting a dog that spent all day barking next door, it really upset Autumn.
