Story
Are you looking for that super special, genuine one on one connection? Well look no further because you’ve just found it in Greta Dawn. Not only will she mesmerize you with her striking soulful eyes but she will steal your heart and will forever have a piece of it. To know her is to love her and she creates connections slowly but once you’re in her corner, there is no turning back. She knows how to turn your worst day into your best day just by being her silly Greta self. She is sensitive, smart, loving, happy, and devoted to the people that she loves the most. Greta loves her humans like no other, and is incredibly loyal and devoted. For this reason, it’s important that we match her with a family that is not going to let her down or abandon her. If you aren’t committed to this girl, like she will be to you, then she’s not the girl for you. She will give you all of her love and just wants to be there for you, whenever you need her. She is going to make a truly amazing family member and best friend. Greta is a true Texas mixed beauty approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 45 lbs. She’s a petite little thing, making her the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. She does however manage to make herself as small as she can when she’s curled up next to you on the couch for snuggles. She doesn’t even take up a whole couch cushion. Greta is a big fan of cuddle sessions, so after her walk around the neighborhood or even the park, a quick game of playing with toys, she’ll snuggle right up next to you for a relaxing rest of the evening. Greta does prefer a calmer quieter household, she can get overwhelmed and get nervous with too much commotion in a household and will do best in a home with no kids. She loves adventures, being your best mate and will be happy as long as she is with her person. So if you’re looking for a best friend to take with you on hikes, enjoy the outdoors and then join you in a nice relaxing evening at the house, Greta Dawn is the perfect bestie for you. Greta has a silly side to her too and she knows exactly how to keep you entertained and keep her self entertained. She does the cutest little zoomies in the backyard and will do best in a home with a yard so she can do those cute zoomies. She also loves toys and can keep herself entertained with a good stuffy or chew toy. Which is great if you work from home! She’ll either be playing with a stuffy, sunbathing in the backyard, or snuggling up next to you while you work. Greta is dog friendly and carefully chooses who she allows to keep her company but thrives with laid-back and relaxed dogs that match her energy. She gets overwhelmed with large groups of energetic dogs and prefers to meet other pups individually. It takes her a little time to get comfortable before engaging in play. Greta is much more attached to humans than other dogs but could live peacefully in a home with a laid-back dog if she has a yard to roam and roll in! Here’s a bonus, Greta is very cat friendly and used to live with two cats in her previous foster home and mostly just ignored them. She would occasionally join in on a game of chase with them if they ran but always in the name of fun. She would do best with dog-savvy cats if she has any cat-siblings. Not only does Greta already have so much going for her, she is also incredibly smart! This girly is crate trained, potty trained and she knows a few basic commands (“sit,” “touch,” “leave-it,” and “no”). She is food motivated, listens really well, and aims to please, so she is going to be very easy to train. Greta is gentle lead trained as well which is simply just a type of leash that helps her walk like an angel out in public and feel more secure. She can be a bit of a shy girl and can be a little wary of new people approaching her on walks or in the home. She does incredibly well in those situations when her person takes the lead, puts her into a sit position, sets her up for success and gives her the space when she needs it. She is just so incredibly sweet and sensitive and wants to be loved and cared for more than anything in the world. This girl is truly something special and is going to make her new family so happy. She has unlimited potential. We are willing to test Greta Dawn with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program, prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue just celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 11,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Story
This precious girl is named Glitter. Glitter is a shiny sweet girl, great with kids and other dogs, and would make a great family dog. To know her is to love her! She’s a bundle of sunshine and love! Fall in love with Glitter here: https://youtu.be/OORnkWyQKIo?si=5uyp8xXuBtNsKvDo We think Glitter is a Carolina Dog, a Yellow Lab mix of some sort. Glitter is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate her age to be around 2 years old, and she currently weighs in at a snuggly 33 pounds. With other dogs, Glitter is a playful, sweet, and tolerant lady. Glitter does well with dogs of all sizes, and is small dog friendly! See her interact with a shih-tzu mix in her video. She has an enthusiastic playstyle that always brings the party to the play-yard. Glitter is always happy to see you. She’s a people’s dog, friendly with everyone she meets, and very loving. Glitter lives for couch snuggles, gentle kisses and bear hugs. She’s been great with every kid she’s met too, and we think she would make a wonderful family dog. See her interact with a 13-year-old in her video. She loves toys, especially stuffies, and she loves to play chase in the yard. She has wonderful house manners, and hasn’t had any indoor accidents here at the rescue! She’s sooo snuggly and lovey, a perfect companion. Glitter would love to be a family dog to a semi-active family or a companion dog. She’s on the more energetic side, but not overly so, daily walks or backyard play sessions will be key to keeping her happy and healthy. This sweet sunshiney girl is ready for her forever home, and knowing her it will be love at first sight when she meets her family! She could do well in a multi-dog home, but could also thrive as a solo dog, soaking up all of your affection. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Glitter with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Please email Jessicak@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.
