This attractive, easy-going fellow is Garrett, came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/17 as a stray. He has stunning good looks and a remarkable personality. He is listed as a mix of Carolina dog and Australian Kelpie. Garrett weighs 67 pounds, is about 2 1/2 years old and is neutered. He is a spunky, energetic, lively, and active fellow with a moderate energy level. He’s crazy about treats and takes them politely. He does not know the sit or any other command, but I have a strong sense that he’s smart enough to learn some basic commands very quickly. Garrett is very likely house trained as he kept his kennel clean and once he got into the yard, he did his business immediately. He is an amiable boy with a pleasant personality who is happy to have you pet him and love on him. And oh that smile🙂 Garrett would doubtless make some person or family a devoted and loving companion. It goes without saying that he needs to be an inside dog in order to be comfortable and to have a safe and secure living situation.

Benji’s soft, chocolate eyes are captivating, and paired with his sleek camel coat, he’s a truly handsome dog. This 1-year-old, 35-pound neutered male Carolina/Shiba Inu mix was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/24 because his previous owners had too many pets. Benji is reserved, gentle, adaptable, and smart. He warmed up within minutes, though still with a touch of caution, so slow introductions are best. He joyfully galloped around the yard, explored with his nose, then came back to spend time by my side. Playful at heart, he found a toy and happily amused himself. He could use some leash practice to avoid tangles, but he did his business in the yard. Sweet as can be, Benji would love to romp outside and then curl up to show just how cuddly he is, especially with his own bed or a cozy pile of blankets at your feet.

Graham is such an easy going, chill, laid back boy. So well mannered, such a total sweetheart and overall just such an amazing dog! So easy to get the leash on him and he does so great on walks. He is very house trained. He will hold it forever til he gets outside to go potty. He keeps his kennel clean and is just 100% a good boy! He is dog friendly and is completely unbothered and non reactive towards the other dogs we pass by in their kennels. Stop by the Richardson Animal Shelter to meet Graham! Fawn has such an endearing personality- she is smart, very affectionate, loves to be social, and takes correction well while learning her manners. >> She entertains herself with a toys or a chewy, and is always eager for someone else to join her! She seems to love other dogs as well (small and large), but I would use caution while still introducing her to any other pets you have (as the case for ANY rescued pup!) >> >> Fawn has the cutest sploot and loves to lay with her legs froggy style on her belly. She will want to follow you around the house and snuggle up right next to you for belly scratches! >> >> She has been doing great at learning boundaries, has never had a potty/poop accident inside, and sleeps quietly through the night. Meet Thelma! She is a 1yr old beautiful golden eyed female Staffordshire Bull/American Staffordshire Terrier mix that weighs 36lbs. She came into the shelter on 10/2 as a stray. Reviewing her pictures through dog scanner, stated there may also be cattle dog in the mix. No matter, she is a very sweet gentle loving pup. She can be shy initially, but given some time she becomes your BFF. She walks well on a leash, takes treats gently and maybe housetrained. She has been very well cared for as can be seen in her clean, soft fur. She loves to be petted and loved on, will give you kisses on your hand, and will sneak a kiss or two on your face. She didn`t show much interest in toys, and the squeaky ones seemed to frighten her. As other dogs were barking at her, she didn`t show any interest, as she wanted to go out into the yard to stretch her legs. While out in the yard she had a burst of the zoomies, with her ears up and a big smile on her face. She hopes to find her own loving family soon, a secured yard to play in, but definitely be an indoor pup as she is a great cuddlebug! You couldn`t ask for a more loyal loving companion!
