Story
* Black Spots not included with dog, but we love that the color job makes him look more hyena than dog! Robin is a 3-year-old neutered male who has overcome incredible odds and is now ready to find his forever home. Two years ago, this brave boy was on the euthanasia list due to a severe injury after getting caught in a kennel door. We saved his leg, and although it's permanently deformed, it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Robin is a joy to be around and has a zest for life that’s infectious. He’s about 47 pounds of pure love and is likely a mix of Carolina dog, Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, and maybe even some Kelpie. He’s truly the perfect super mutt! Here are some highlights about Robin: Potty and Crate Trained: Robin knows basic commands and is a saint in a crate. Great with Kids: He’s fantastic with our foster’s children and loves being around humans of all ages. Dog-Friendly: Robin does well with other dogs and enjoys making new furry friends. Leash Pro: He walks well on a leash and loves exploring the world with you. Unique Look: Our groomer had some fun and turned him into a cheetah He’s as unique on the outside as he is on the inside! Despite his leg being deformed, Robin is fully healed and doesn’t let it hold him back. He’s a resilient, loving, and spirited dog who’s ready to fill your home with joy and companionship. Interested in becoming a forever home for Robin? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Robin. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Robin the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
CAPE MAY, NJ: Just like his name, handsome Halo is heavenly – and this angel needs a loving home in which he can shine! Halo is 2 years old and weighs around 43 lbs. Sadly, Halo was not cared for well prior to being surrendered in January 2024 (then known as Bentley). From his behavior it seems like there was not enough food to go around in his previous home and/or he spent most of his time in a crate. But since being rescued by AmsterDog in March 2024, Halo has been gaining confidence – and a few well-deserved pounds – in his loving foster home. Halo loves to spend time outside soaking up the sunshine and is easily walked on a leash. When Halo looks your way, you can not help but be awed by his stunning ice-blue eyes. His perfect and expressive face is framed by the cutest, perkiest ears! Halo can be a little shy at first, so he needs a patient home that will allow him to decompress fully, but he really is a treasure of a dog. Once he is comfortable with you, Halo is affectionate, social and acts like a puppy. He loves being with you, loves being pet and can “sit” and “lay down” for treats. Halo loves other dogs, too! He previously lived with children and we think he would be ok with dog-savvy kids 8+ years old. Halo’s puppy energy is easily combatted with regular exercise and he responds really well to enrichment items – a long lasting chew can really calm him down. He is also crate-trained and impeccably house-trained, fully vetted, and neutered. Sweet boy Halo has been through so much and he is ready to focus on a future of LOVE – but don’t forget the treats, too! If you can open your heart and home to deserving Halo, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414. Apply to adopt Halo at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
Meet Russ, a charming canine on a quest to find his FUR-ever home. Discovered at a park in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Russ's story unfolds with a tale of abandonment, evident in his longing gaze. Despite being left behind a month ago from when we found him, Russ carries himself with the grace of a once-loved companion. At around 3 years old and a sturdy 30 pounds, Russ is a picture of canine elegance, displaying the distinctive traits of a brown Carolina Dog mix. His manners are impeccable – he's mastered the art of leash walking and delights in staying close to his human companions. Russ is not just a pretty face; he's a well-rounded pup. Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative, he's in tip-top health and ready to bring joy to a loving family. His good-natured spirit extends to children and other dogs, making him a versatile addition to any household. With a love for the great outdoors, Russ dreams of a big yard or even a farm to explore and call his own. If you're seeking a loyal companion to share your adventures, consider making Russ a part of your family. Adopt Russ, and let the journey of unconditional love and companionship begin – because every dog deserves a FUR-ever home. To meet Russ, please fill out an adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/91758283848171    *What is a Sato? Satos (pronounced with a short A) are a type of dog rather then a breed.  The name is Puerto Rican slang for “street dog,” but they are also known as Puerto Rican Found Dogs in the U.S. They are the homeless dogs, or urban free-ranging dogs, that live in Puerto Rican cities. Satos are small to medium dogs, usually not more than 35-40lbs. They have large ears that flop, long snouts and legs that seem just a tiny bit too short for their bodies. Their fur varies from a short thick coat to longer, feathery details on the tail and ears. They come in every color imaginable.  November 2, 2024, 11:51 am
