Story
Meet Jenny! SEE FOSTER UPDATES BELOW! HOUSE-TRAINED, CRATE-TRAINED, & GOOD WITH DOGS & KIDS! GRADUATED FROM TRAINING TOO! This connecting Carolina dog/shepherd mix is 39 pounds and two years old. She is currently loving life in an amazing foster home and we can't wait to share all we've learned about this lovely pup! House-trained and crate-trained, Jenny aims to please! Jenny currently lives with three other pups and does great with them! Jenny tends to match the energy of the dogs she meets. If you're looking for a furry pal for your pup-check her out! She enjoys all sorts of treats and toys-especially plush ones! You can take both food and toys away with no issue. Jenny rides well in the car and is ready to hit the road with you. She has visited our friends at Pupper Budder where she met some new furry friends. Next was Pet Supplies Plus, a walk at the lake, and a quick stop at Tractor Supply. Of course what outing would be complete without a tasty treat that she gobbled right up! This impressive girl also graduated from her obedience class with our friends at Paws Plus You. She is a very capable girl and had a blast with the other pups in her class! She walks well on her leash and always sits nicely for her treats which she takes gently. She has great recall and is eager to please! She loves to sprawl out in her bullfrog pose and has the best smile around! As she is still a young lady, Jenny will thrive in a home with continued training, daily exercise and a nice yard to enjoy! Jenny is the queen of the zoomies, but always makes time for some snuggles. She will never turn down a belly rub. At the end of the day, Jenny sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, dreaming of the day she can become part of her forever family. Based on our evaluation, we feel Jenny would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids five and up. She may have the ability to live in a home with other dogs of a similar energy level and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think she could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our jubilant Jenny!

Story
Meet Bean! STRUGGLING IN THE KENNEL. NEEDS A FOSTER ASAP! CHECK OUT HER OUTING VIDEO! This three-year-old, 48-pound Anatolian shepherd/Carolina dog mix is one attentive and capable girl! Bean is one of our longest-term residents and needs someone to recognize what we already know- she's one amazing pup! Not only is Bean one smart cookie, she's just as endearing as she is intelligent! Bean knows several commands including sit and shake and we know she is capable of so much more. Her soft gaze will capture your heart and when she leans in for some love, you'll wonder how you ever lived without her! Bean is food-motivated and also appreciates a nice full body rub. She will thrive in a home where she can receive continued training, daily exercise and a fenced-in yard to enjoy. She will need a capable handler who she can hit the trail with. We can't think of a better way to spend our time than hanging with Bean! Thanks to some wonderful volunteers, Bean has been on a few outings and enjoyed every moment of them. She got to cruise downtown Oxford, hit the trail, visit the lake and of course stop for some treats from our friends at Pupper Budder. Outings like these are so beneficial to keep her engaged while she waits patiently for her forever family to come rescue her. Based on our evaluation, we feel Bean would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may have the ability to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think she could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our bubbly Bean!
