Meet Lavender!This absolute cutie is ready to bloom in her forever home! Lavender is a 6-month-old, 18-pound pup who looks like a Carolina Dog mix, though she’s on the smaller side and likely has a fun mix of breeds in her.She’s super friendly, playful, and adores people—she soaks up all the attention she can get! Lavender gets along great with other dogs but prefers to enjoy her meals solo. We pulled her from a shelter just in time, and now she’s looking for a loving family to call her own.If you’re looking for a sweet, happy pup who’s ready for fun and cuddles, Lavender is your girl!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. Story
Luna is a 4 year old Carolina Mix. She is stubborn, overprotective of her owner, and always needs to know where you are. She will cuddle on her own terms only and we are still working on letting me touch her ears or nails to take care of her. However, she is also loyal, sweet, keeps herself clean, and scary smart. Carolina dogs generally do best with people around, lots of exercise, and firm but positive leadership. She picks up commands very quickly, and we have been doing agility training. She loves agility work and picks it up after one or two times of going through it. Our biggest issue is that she can be dog aggressive. Some dogs she is friendly and just wants to play, but other dogs cause her to growl, bark, and lunge towards those dogs. She would do best in a home with a yard and multiple people or pets, but would need safe introductions to those pets before adoption. I cannot keep her due to my own issues, not hers.
